TARDA Managing Director Job in Kenya

The Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA), a State Corporation established under Cap 443 with its Head Quarters located in Nairobi is seeking to recruit a Managing Director.
 

Vision: An Outstanding River Basin planning Authority in Africa.
 

Mission: To undertake integrated regional resources planning promote and co-ordinate development in the Tana and Athi Rivers basins for sustainable socio-economic well being of people.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

• The Managing Director will be the Chief Executive and Secretary to the Board;
• Advising the board on all matters relating to implementation of the corporate strategy of the Authority development;
• Providing transformative leadership development and implementation of the corporate strategies of the Authority;
• Driving the growth of the Authority and identification of opportunities for development expansion;
• Formulating, reviewing and analyzing the Authority’s development policies;
• Leading institutional and policy reforms aimed at transforming the Authority into self-sustenance;
• Providing relationship management and networking with local and global business partners and stakeholders.

The selected candidate for this position must possess high-level practical experience, proven leadership skills in efficiently managing human and financial resources, be results driven and outstanding track record of achievement.

Person Specification

• Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree (from a University recognized by the Commission for Higher education, Kenya) in, Business Administration, Engineering, Agriculture, Economics, Law, Project Management, Natural Science, Rural Development & Planning or related fields.
• The Applicant must be registered with his professional body where applicable.
• A master Degree or Professional qualifications in relevant fields will be an added advantage.
• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of Ten (10) years experience at least in one of the above disciplines, Five (5) of which should have been at a Management level.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills are essential.
• An attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the job and the experience of the individual will be negotiated with the selected candidate.
• The position is on a Three (3) year renewable term and annual performance contract.
