Pambazuko Mashinani Baseline Survey Field Interviewers Jobs in Nairobi Kenya

Pambazuko Mashinani is a non-profit making organization whose mission is to build the information power & capacity of poor people to connect and engage as participative, change-driving, healthy and dignified citizens in Kenya.

Pambazuko Mashinani strengthens, connects and mobilizes grassroots groups to enhance their leadership, voice and power. Pambazuko Mashinani therefore seeks to recruit Baseline Survey Field Interviewers prior to conducting civic education within Nairobi County.

Introduction to the baseline survey:

Although the new constitution dispensation fertilizes the bond between public participation and transparency, levels of public awareness of its provisions vary along myriad variables across the slums in Nairobi.

This affects their civic engagement and limits their capacity to hold public officials accountable on the basis of specific constitutional provisions.

In this regards, marginalized communities face greater relative challenges in taking advantage of the current Constitution.

This baseline survey aims at collecting data and information that will shed light on the limits of public knowledge of the substance of the constitution in the three chapters: Devolved Government, Representation and legislature and the Executive.

The survey targets population groups in all the eight constituencies in Nairobi in the following specific slum areas: Kasarani Constituency (Korogocho slum), Langata (Soweto East slums), Embakasi (Mukuru kwa Njenga), Westlands ( Deep Sea slums), Starehe (Kosovo slums), Makadara (Marigo-ini slum), Dagoretti (Kawangware slums) and Kamukunji (Kiambiyo Slums).
