The United Nations World Food Programme seeks Warehouse Facilities in Kenya


Expression of Interest
WFP Kenya seeks to identify warehouse facilities in Mombasa, Nairobi, Eldoret, Garissa and Lodwar.
The warehouse(s) will mainly be used for the storage of food commodities and should ideally meet the following requirements:
  • Be in very good condition without any (major) repairs required
  • Fitted with fire fighting facilities/equipment; ablution amenities; water and power supply; and contain warehouse office space
  • Have adequate truck turn/manoeuvring space
  • Have security fencing installed around the premises
  • Have rail siding (if not available, please indicate distance to the nearest rail siding) – this applies to Mombasa, Nairobi and Eldoret only
  • Available for a period of 2-5 years
  • Minimum requirements in terms of storage capacity are:
  1. For Mombasa: 30,000 mt
  2. For Nairobi: 10,000 mt
  3. For Eldoret: 10,000 mt
  4. For Lodwar: 4,000 mt
  5. For Garissa: 3,000 mt
WFP invites qualified landlords, who are duly registered and authorized in accordance with the prevailing laws in Kenya, to submit their information for consideration for short listing.
The following are the minimum/documentation requirements:
1. Proof of ownership/Title deed (certified)
2. Certificate of incorporation
Please note that this is not an invitation to tender. No rates/prices are required at this stage, and this invitation does not bind the World Food Programme to issue any tenders or contracts to the companies expressing their interest.
Your submission should include basic information about your warehouse including size, location and description of facilities.

The documents should be sent by mail pouch or hand-delivered, so as to reach WFP by 10.00 a.m., 23rd January 2012.
The expression of interest may be followed by an interview, inspection of offices, facilities and equipment. Please note that WFP does not charge any fee for registration forms.
