IDRC Programs and Research Officer Job in Nairobi, Kenya

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) supports financially and through capacity -building, research in developing regions of the world to promote growth and development.

We are seeking a dynamic team player for the following key position in our Regional Office for Sub-Saharan Africa:
 
Programs and Research Officer
 
Nairobi, Kenya
 
Reporting to the Regional Director, you will provide support to him and program staff in the areas of regional strategy, program development and learning in the region. 

You will play a lead role in gathering strategic intelligence on the policy landscape as well as monitoring, synthesizing and providing guidance on regional program developments and trends. 

Your responsibilities will entail conducting research, analyzing data, and producing briefing papers, reports and presentations. 

In addition, you will manage the Regional Activity Funds, coordinate strategic activities, support web-page management, and occasionally represent IDRC at important events.
 
As the ideal candidate, you have a Master’s degree and a minimum of 5 years work experience relevant to international development. In particular, you have demonstrated experience in the support of policy analysis and research management with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa.

Along with strong strategic thinking, analytical, and writing skills, you have superior communication and project management abilities and can work independently in a fast-paced team environment. Sound MS-Office, website and information management skills in addition to fluency in English and French round out your qualifications.
