Human Resources Manager Job in Kenya (KShs 130K - 160K ) - Manufacturing Industry

Human Resources Manager 

Gross Salary: KShs 130K - 160K 
 
Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Human Resource Manager whose main responsibility will be putting in place sound human resource activities aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the work performance results and the development of human resource in the company.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Prepare new employee for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling employees and supervisors
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
  • Monitor and ensure that all statutory and benefits’ deductions and remittances are processed and submitted on time
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures that are in compliance with the Kenya Labour Laws and the standards of the company
  • Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filling and retrieval system; keeping past and current records
  • Maintain human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintain human resource staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ensure that all human resource policies are well documented
  • Assist the different companies that constitute the group to coordinate and streamline their staffing function
  • Provide HR support to the various organizations in the group as and when required
Education and Experience
  • A Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration; Those with Postgraduate qualifications will have an added advantage
  • Must be a full member of IHRM or KIM
  • Must have at least 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources; 2 in senior management position
  • Must have worked in a manufacturing, horticulture or industry with over 100 casuals
  • Labour Union Experience is essential
  • Have well-developed communication (written/verbal), interpersonal and facilitation skills including the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels in a variety of situations.
  • Thorough Knowledge of the Kenya labour laws
  • Tact and diplomacy: Ability to lead and instil sense of general discipline
  • Strong level of influence and negotiation skills
  • Have the ability and initiative to work in a dynamic, high profile environment
  • He/she must have the ability to present information in forms, tables, and spreadsheets etc.
