Reports To: Head of Projects
Department: Projects
Duty Station: Support Office, Nairobi with constant field travel
Purpose of the role
To synthesize and implement sustainable community engagement strategies across MSK channels
Essential duties
To synthesize and implement sustainable community engagement strategies across MSK channels
Essential duties
- Leads implementation of the Innovation Fund grant including grant management and reporting as Project Manager
- Rolls out innovation Fund Community health worker pilot activities
- Develops practical organization-wide community engagement strategy
- Documents MSK best practice in community level engagement
- Develops a data base of community linkages and contacts- including CHEWs, CHWs, CBOs and Community Officers
- Represents MSK at community, county, regional and national forums
- Supports implementation of the community strategy within project sites
Key competencies
- Bachelors degree in Community Development, Sociology or Public Health
- Three years’ experience in community based health work, community approaches and/or social mobilization
- Minimum one years experience as a budget holder and responsible for donor reporting
- Proven track record of working with communities and understanding community strategy
- Experience in managing relationships with donors, partners, community and Government
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity, assertiveness and negotiating skills
