Access Afya Project Manager Job in Nairobi Kenya

Project Manager for Access Afya

Term: Temporary; September 2012- November 2012

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Summary of Organization

Access Afya is a new social enterprise that will bring excellent healthcare to low-income communities in Kenya.

It will do this through a mini-clinic model, providing quick and convenient access to basic health services and information.

The clinics will specialize in primary and preventative care and be staffed by nurses and clinic aides.

They will be a first point of access into an existing health system, linked to surrounding facilities for referrals when necessary.

We are piloting the model this year and will use lessons learned and data generated from the pilot to inform an expansion plan.

Access Afya is innovative and ambitious in its goal of targeting “Base of the Pyramid” customers, using new health technologies to deliver better care, and working to create a branded chain of consistently high quality care providers.

The pilot will create a blueprint for a rapidly scalable model.

Summary of Role

Access Afya is seeking a Pilot Coordinator to build internal capacity and run daily pilot operations.

This person will work closely in partnership with the CEO and clinic staff.

The Pilot Coordinator will move existing plans for the pilot site forward, and closely oversee daily operations.

This will include emphasizing extremely efficient operational systems, creating a culture of friendliness and mutual respect among staff, and finding the right service delivery model that balances patient needs and wants with Access Afya capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new model for bringing an essential service into underserved areas and to work at the forefront of technology and healthcare.

The Pilot Coordinator will also be involved in conversations regarding Access Afya expansion based on the pilot experience, and there is potential for a long-term involvement in that expansion.
