Background: I Choose Life – Africa (ICL) is one of the leading Non-Governmental Organizations that has contributed greatly to Sexual Reproductive Health efforts among the youth in Kenya today. 

The organization works closely with the government, universities, communities and has programs in over 210 institutions (tertiary institutions and high schools) across 16 Counties in Kenya and reaches over 1 million youth annually with behavior change communication messages.

Job Purpose: S/he will Carry out EBI facilitation in Institutions and in the Community Project implementation in Nandi County. The position is based in Baraton Centre -ICL Office. 

In addition, support counties in the actualization of their county strategic plans aligned to Vision 2030
 
Key Responsibilities

Facilitation of EBIs intervention activities
  • Recruit and  mobilize stakeholders and key mobilizers
  • Maintain sites for condom supply & distribution and water based lubricants.
  • Conduct social and community mobilization to introduce the intervention
  • Conduct recruitment and EBI trainings
  • Ensure proper recording and confidential keeping of all clients information/data entry and management
  • Maintain working relationships with the community
  • Monitor and report on individual clients
  • Distribute IEC materials
  • Make appropriate referrals and linkages  for clients
Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
  • Take part/ participation in proposal development with other program staff i.e. finance
  • Assemble resources required for program team to perform tasks
Project Monitoring, Evaluation & Control
  • Create, maintain & constantly look to improve project processes
  • Provide detailed explanations through reports of project  processes
  • Present work to the Partner at milestones throughout the project
  • Ensure Partners’ expectations are exceedingly met  in terms of quality of product and service delivered
  • Involved in quality Assurance of Evidence based Interventions
  • Run the project on a day-to-day basis
  • Assist the Program manager to Coordinate program implementation
  • Assemble resources required for program team to perform tasks
  • Assist the Program Manager in coordinating communication between staff and third parties acting on behalf of the organization
  • Assist the Program Manager to efficiently and competently manage project challenge
  • Any other duties and responsibilities in line with project Management
Education and Training
  • First Degree preferably  in Social sciences or any other related field 
  • Professional trainings in at least two HIV Prevention Evidence Based Behavioral Interventions
  • Training in Research/ Basic Program Evaluations, Monitoring and evaluation, Project management, leadership & management, organizational development, or strategic planning is an added advantage
Experience, Skills and Abilities
  • At least 2 years hands on experience in facilitation of HIV prevention Evidence Based Behavioral interventions including MARPs and project management related to HIV/AIDS in PEPFAR funded programs
  • S/He should also have experience in capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, budget management and people management skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) with an ability to analyze and utilize program development gaps for decision making
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop institutional partnerships and build networks
  • Ability to work with a team, foster a team approach and incorporate capacity building activities into the program
  • Be an excellent communicator, team player and willingness to work in a multi – sectoral setting
