ICPSK Technical Officer Job in Kenya

The Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) is a Professional Association, incorporated by statute in 1988, under the Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya Act, Cap. 534 of the Laws of Kenya.

The Institute’s mission is “to promote the practice of good governance, administration and management through competence development of members and dissemination of knowledge on best practice to stakeholders”.

The Institute seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Technical Officer.

The position reports to the Chief Executive/Institute Secretary.

Job Summary

The Technical Officer shall, in consultation with and under the guidance of the Chief Executive / Institute Secretary, be responsible for the Technical services in the Institute including Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programmes, Research and Development and dissemination of information to members on corporate secretarial and governance issues.

This will be done through the established Council Committees.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job will involve organizing meetings, writing minutes and implementing the decisions of various Committees of the Council.

In consultation with the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, the Technical Officer will be involved in:

  • Undertaking research and development on relevant professional matters.
  • Developing and documenting relevant Professional Standards for the members of the Institute.
  • Reviewing and developing strategies for ensuring compliance with CPD requirements by institute members as per policy.
  • Organisation and management of institute conferences and seminars.
  • Formulating and implementing strategies for increasing the membership of the Institute.

Job Specifications

  • A university degree in Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • A member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya CPS (K)
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience in Company Secretarial work.
  • Demonstrable skills in good governance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Integrity and honesty.
  • Strong research and computing skills.
  • A team player with proven leadership and people management skills.
