IT Manager
IT Manager
Responsibilities
IT Operations Management
- Ensures the availability of all hardware and allied equipment to staff.
- Operational capacity & scalability planning.
- Disaster recovery, business continuity plans & tests.
- Ensure IT process & systems management by setting & enforcing all necessary controls to deliver operational service.
- Manage all research & development activities & processes to implement new technologies.
- Identify security requirements & address threats.
- Develop & share actionable insight into system utilisation & capacity to identify bottlenecks & opportunities.
User Support
- Assist branch and support staff with ad hoc IT challenges, both hardware and software
- Monitor the internet connectivity and phone usage across afb loans operations
- Ensure technology issues are managed to resolution.
- Escalate issues internally or externally as required.
- Develop self-help options, FAQs & a library of resources.
- Monitor & maintain key metrics & follow-up actions.
- Maintain help desk issue resolution tracker
Repairs/Maintenance Coordination
- Identifying, installing, configuring, and maintenance of computer hardware operating systems and applications;
- Define & schedule routine maintenance for the networks & telephony.
- Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults;
- Keeps records of all hardware sent to vendors for repairs or servicing and follow-up on same.
- Maintain user logs and backup systems
- Maintenance of devices outside afb offices.
Training
- Engage in IT specific training as per directions given by the line manager.
- Provide development feedback & mentoring to operations personnel.
- Work to ensure a collaborative culture exists within the team.
General
- Manage mobile money platform and app access rights
- Manage telephony, IT and internet set-up and bills
- Support in-country lead in money system integration; mobile app troubleshooting, anticipating challenges and recommending technological solutions that will increase operational ease
- Produce weekly reports on all the above
- Perform any other duties deemed to be within IT mandate
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science
- IT professional qualification
- 4 years and above of experience working in a busy organization
