Save the Children in South Sudan - Director of HR & Administration Job Vacancy


Save the Children in South Sudan (SCiSS) is seeking to recruit a Director of Human Resources & Administration with the overall responsibility for the leadership, management, direction and coordination of the human resources and administration management of Save the Children in South Sudan.


This will include strategic planning, effective systems development, capacity building of staff and development of effective and efficient country HR and Administration teams.   We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and result oriented candidate with a strong commitment to the promotion of children’s rights!

The HR and Administration Director will lead on strategic human resources planning and will work closely with the Country Director and the Senior Management team on all people related matters, providing HR leadership, advice and solutions in analysing people issues and challenges across the organisation. This will include conceptualization, design and management of staffing strategies to ensure that the organization acquires and retains a qualified workforce capable of meeting the current organizational challenges

The HR and Administration Director will be responsible for human resources management and the design of competitive and appropriate compensation and benefit policies, by conducting benefit and compensation reviews periodically to ensure best practices.

The selected candidate will oversee all HR processes including the performance management process, learning and development process, succession planning, while providing leadership on overall Employee Relations for the organization. The Director will ensure administration procedures and systems are in place, effective and efficiently implemented to provide quality support.

Qualified candidate will have;
  • Post-Graduate qualifications in Personnel Management or Business Administration (MBA)specializing in Human Resources.
  • A minimum of 10 years work experiences, of which 5 years  are at senior management level in a corporate or an INGO environment.
  • Proven experience in the development of strategic and operational HR plans and their implementation, within a professional work environment.
  • Demonstrated credibility with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to supervise and motivate qualified professional staff with strong personal values.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, delegate appropriately and provide developmental guidance to staff.
