Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end and proactive performance monitoring and management of Applications, Infrastructure, and general ICT systems. The holder will also ensure high systems availability and improvements to meet business growth demands, ensure timely intervention by key stake holders, improved performance, enhanced system security, business continuity and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as the resource for ICT Infrastructure performance monitoring including SNMP, logs, events and maintenance of general systems
  • Team up to plan and design Infrastructure and Network systems that run mission critical business applications
  • Security monitoring including perimeter devices, internal systems logs, events and event correlation.
  • Provides end-to-end performance monitoring and management of Applications, Infrastructure, and system health in order to proactively identify weaknesses and address them.
  • Performs end-user training, product evaluation and testing as well as planning and execution of product upgrades, firewall signature updates and patch releases.
  • Ensures monitoring profiles, technologies and notification rules match best practice expectations.
  • Develop and implement a long term system performance strategies.
  • Establish performance bench lines for all systems, applications and ICT Infrastructure.
  • Continually monitor trends in performance of all the Bank’s applications and systems and proactively take corrective actions
  • Manage system performance of Network systems and applications to ensure that the systems work as designed and perform consistently and reliably
  • Enforce controls in system upgrades
  • Research, advocate, develop and deliver leading edge technology to improve system performance, security and functionality.
  • Defining and documenting the various architecture components, including hardware platform, operating system, execution, development, operation, distribution and technologies related to networking systems.
  • Enforce version and patch upgrade mechanisms across the systems
  • Provide input to l.T. Governance perspective for key l.T. projects and changes
  • Enforce periodic SLA reviews with vendors and contract reviews as per set timelines.
  • Provide BCP leadership and coordinate periodic testing as scheduled sharing the results with management
  • Manage key l.T. risks and ensure proper mitigation
  • Enforce production systems, Disaster recovery Systems and Test Systems policies and procedures
Job Specification ( Expected Skills, Knowledge and Attributes)
The successful candidate will be required to possess the following skills and attributes
  • Skills in Systems Development, Infrastructure and Systems Implementation and support
  • Hands on experience in project management/consulting
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze and correlate complex data
  • Demonstrated experience managing systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multitasking operating systems environments such as UNIX, Windows NT/2 000, Windows 2003, TCP/IP.
  • Demonstrated experience in using security and performance monitoring tools for various platforms including Servers, Firewalls, IPSs and applications
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and monitoring different server hardware platforms, and other ICT Infrastructure components.
  • Extensive experience in systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting with a track record of accomplishment in large, complex Infrastructure and client/server based systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Cisco routers and switches, IBM and SUN/Oracle servers
  • Demonstrated experience with Oracle database administration and design
  • Good knowledge of ICT standards such as ITIL
  • Good knowledge of information security
  • Excellent knowledge of ICT system architectures, platforms and Infrastructure
  • Good knowledge of TCP lP, SNMP, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, and event correlation tools
  • Good knowledge of performance monitoring tools
  • Working experience with Unix, Linux, Windows, network, telecommunications knowledge and solid systems design skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate mission critical projects and to develop, participate in and lead multi-disciplinary work teams.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with users in a team environment.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong dedication and ability to work for long hours.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • CCNP,CCSP
  • Certified in Oracle
  • ITIL training
  • CISA/ CISM will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years experience at managerial level in planning, systems analysis, design, support and development of LAN/WAN infrastructure
