The
National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) is a State Corporation, created by
Legal Notice No. 171 of 24th November 2011, under the Ministry of State for
Development of Northern Kenya and other Arid Lands, with the mandate of
providing leadership and coordination on all matters relating to drought
management.
The
Authority’s Board of Directors intends to fill the following positions.
Supply Chain Assistant
Supply Chain Assistant
(REF:
NDMA 28) (23 Positions)
Reporting to the County Drought Coordinator and assist to deliver on the objectives of the function at County level
Core duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure
that procurement activities undertaken by the County Drought Management
Office are in line with the Authority’s procurement policies and
procedures
- In
collaboration with the County Tender Committee, assist in the preparation
of tender documents and in the whole Procurement process including:
preparation of tender dossiers; identification of potential suppliers and
consultants; evaluation of tenders and preparation of contracts
- Scheduling
of deliveries and ensuring that inspection/testing criteria are met by the
suppliers
- Maintain
the quotation (shopping), duplicates of Local Purchase Orders (LPO) and
Local Service Orders (LSO) files; requisition and issue voucher file,
counter receipt voucher file and delivery note file
Applicants
must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Diploma
in Supplies Management/Supply Chain Management from a recognized
Institution.
- Minimum
3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge
and understanding of Government procurement guidelines
- Those
with a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:- Commerce, Business
Administration, Economics, Procurement and Supplies Management will have
an added advantage.
Accounts Assistant
(
REF: NDMA 29) ) (26 Positions)
Reporting to the County Drought Coordinator, the Accounts Assistant will contribute to the realisation of the Authority’s goals and objectives by assisting the County Drought Coordinator to ensure sound financial management of the County Drought Management Office
Core duties and responsibilities:
- Advise
the County Drought Coordinator on all financial matters pertaining to the
County Drought Management Office
- Coordinate
the preparation of the work plans, budget and cash flow forecasts
- Provide
accurate and timely input for the preparation of quarterly and annual
reports,
- Preparation
of Cheque & Cash payment vouchers, taking them for authority to pay
and issuing out cheques,
- Accounting
for all receipts including interest earned/accrued on all bank accounts
and preparation of bank reconciliation for all bank accounts
Applicants
must meet the following minimum requirements:
- CPA
II or the equivalent level in ACCA
- Five
years of relevant experience
- Knowledge
of Kenyan government financial, and accounting procedures
- ICT
skills – Microsoft based software
