KPMG is a leading provider of professional services, which include audit, tax and advisory. KPMG’s Development Advisory Services Unit (DAS) is based in Nairobi, Kenya and has adopted a pan-African approach to development work, employing full-time experienced development experts within the KPMG Africa team at our headquarters in Nairobi, together with a network of champions across the twenty countries of KPMG in sub-Saharan Africa.
The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) has contracted KPMG Development Advisory Services (KPMG DAS) to provide fund management services for the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (the AECF or the Fund) through a competitive tender process. AGRA and the AECF donors have established the AECF as a Special Partnership Initiative of AGRA. Under this arrangement, AGRA operates the AECF as a separate programme with its own identity, administrative processes and systems, and branding, within AGRA’s legal personality and systems.
The AECF is a challenge fund capitalised by multilateral and bilateral donors (the AECF donors) to stimulate private sector entrepreneurs in Africa to innovate and find profitable ways of doing business that result in increasing the incomes of, and employment opportunities for, the rural poor.
