Consultancy Services for the Development of Guidelines For:
I. The Translation of Legal Documents from English to Swahili; and
II. The Universal Accessibility of Web Content
Through a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation, the National Council for Law Reporting, is seeking the services of a consultant to develop universal web content accessibility guidelines and customize the guidelines into sample templates for each of the following types of web content: Judicial opinions; Acts of Parliament; Bills of Parliament; Legal Notices; Kenya Gazette Notices; Treaties and International Instruments; The Parliamentary Hansard (Records of Parliamentary Proceedings).

The Rockefeller Foundation’s work is specifically aimed at fostering a critical new arm of the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry called Impact Sourcing which employs poor and vulnerable people as principal workers in BPO centers.

Qualification
The ideal consultant will be a firm with a mix of individuals with core competencies (knowledge and professional experience) in:
  • Website design and development;
  • documenting, customizing and implementing guidelines for the universal accessibility of web content;
  • documenting, customizing and implementing guidelines for the translation of legal documents from English to Swahili;
  • project management.
