Group CEO Construction Job Career in Kenya


A major player in the construction sector within the Eastern and Central African region wishes to hire a Group CEO. The Group CEO will have responsibility for ensuring that the business operates profitably, and lead the winning of new business.
The company which operates multiple large sites across the region is engaged in mechanical, civil engineering and logistics for projects in the power generation, power transmission, and petroleum, mining and road sectors.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the construction business team to identify opportunities in their markets, and secure strong pipeline of committed projects;
  • Achieve business development plans and profits for the sector;
  • Monitor the construction industry/trends across the region to identify potential projects and work with country teams to put together winning bids;
  • Build and maintain relationships with the potential and existing clientele;
  • Review the performance of the construction company and ensure that they are on target;
  • Ensure that all contracts achieve the company goals of within budget, on time, safe delivery to clients’ requirements; and
  • Develop systems and capabilities throughout the organization to develop a world class operating system for the company.
Requirements
  • Professional qualifications, to degree level or equivalent preferably in Engineering and membership to professional body;
  • Experience of managing large construction projects/companies;
  • Proven track record within a major construction company;
  • Excellent business development skills/track record;
  • The ability to prepare bids for large construction projects, bring on board/work with other technical and financial experts such as: engineers; project developers; architects; and others;
  • A good understanding of the East, Central and Southern African construction landscape and the challenges that it poses and the ability to resolve such challenges; and
  • Strong leadership skills and cross cultural awareness.
