Our client, an ambitious and rapidly growing Group of Companies in the ICT sector in Kenya with business interests in the region, is seeking to recruit qualified and results - driven legal professionals.
One to manage regulatory, compliance and legal affairs function and the other to handle among others legal contracts and intellectual property rights issues.
Regulatory & Compliance Manager
The Regulatory & Compliance Manager will report to the Group Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs.
The role of the Regulatory & Compliance Manager will involve, but is not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities
- Develop written compliance plans and procedures for the Group
- Identify, register and protect the IP within the group
- Market and lobby the needs of the organization to government and ensure that legislation and regulation, particularly new legislation, is positive for our lines of business.
- Conduct internal reviews to oversee and ensure compliance with third party covenants and contractual obligations.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Assess products compliance or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
- Conduct annual self – environmental health and safety audits to ensure adherence to legal standards, compliance with the Company’s EHS policies, identify and come up with corrective measures for any non compliance issues.
- File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies in liaison with external firms where applicable. Monitor and report on compliance matters – CCK, NEMA, NCC, KRA , Registrar of companies and other regulatory bodies
- Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes
- Consult with advocates as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issue Discuss emerging compliance issues with management or employees.
- Collaborate with human resources departments to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations.
- Advise internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs.
- Review communications such as sales advertising to ensure there are no violations of standards or regulations.
- Provide employee training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures.
- Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress.
- Oversee internal reporting systems such as corporate compliance
- Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, laws and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.
- Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
- Verify that all regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
Required Qualifications
- LLB Degree
- Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law
- Certified Public Secretary (CPSK) will be an added advantage,
- Should be an Advocate of the high Court of Kenya
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in Telecomms/media
- Good interpersonal and negotiations skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Managerial and leadership skills
