Job Title: M&E / HIS Specialist

Job Purpose: The main function of the M&E/HIS Specialist will be to assist the senior HIS advisor in provision of technical assistance to zonal, district, and facility-based HIS structures through close collaboration with zonal and district Level M&E / HMIS officials, with the goal of improved supervision of the facility and to build capacity in data analysis and use.
Job Purpose: The main function of the M&E/HIS Specialist will be to assist the senior HIS advisor in provision of technical assistance to zonal, district, and facility-based HIS structures through close collaboration with zonal and district Level M&E / HMIS officials, with the goal of improved supervision of the facility and to build capacity in data analysis and use.
- Institutionalizing HIS systems at the national and decentralized level,
- Strengthening of decentralized HIS structures,
- Strengthening the capacity of district-level HIS staff to collect, process, report, and use data of high quality and validity,
- Development and Implementation of supportive supervision strategies;
- Developing and conducting data quality audits;
- Training of trainers in the area of HIS / M&E
- Carry out other such duties as may reasonably be required, commensurate with the grade of this post
General Work Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience, of which at least 4 years in the area of HIS strengthening,
- Operational / Working knowledge of DHIS 2.0;
- Regional experience in sub-saharan Africa, specifically SADC;
- Experience in the training of trainers in the area of HIS / M&E
- Excellent written and spoken language skills in English
Technical Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in public health, ideally with a specialisation in M&E, HIS, or epidemiology.
