Nutrition Coordinator
Save the Children (SC) is an international organization with 27 member organizations across the globe.
It
is united by a common mission and brand but, to some extent, has until now been
working independently from country to country and within countries.
With
the decision by all Save the Children organizations to create an International
Programmes Unit (IPU) taken in 2010, Save the Children aims to create a
stronger voice for children by unifying the operations in all countries.
This
will result in one organisation at the national level in each country and a
unified programme delivery structure for all Save the Children International
Members.
Job Purpose:
The
Nutrition Coordinator will have the stated purpose of leading the nutrition
team for South Somalia.
The
Nutrition Coordinator will be responsible for the effective design,
implementation and coordination of activities associated with the Save the
Children Somalia /Somaliland nutrition interventions in South Somalia.
S/He
is responsible for leading the design of the interventions, developing work
plans; coordinating with partners in peer programs locally & regionally;
stimulating & identifying innovative ideas amongst the team that will meet
the project goals; establish best practices; produce reports; attend regular
management meetings both inhouse and cluster level; coordinating with other
SCiSOM technical leads and relevant Humanitarian actors; and managing the local
team as applicable (direct implementation / implementation through local
partners).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program
Design and Management: Lead the design and work plan development of the
identified interventions.
Lead
the charge in brainstorming innovative new ideas and stimulating such thinking
amongst the SS nutrition team.
Generate
quality monthly and quarterly reports on progress and analysis of program
results and accomplishments.
Coordination of Nutrition Activities: Monitor, guide and support the work of the Field Managers and other members of the Nutrition team for quality programming.
