Our client is a major player in the provision of large-bore diesel engines and turbo-machinery for marine and stationary applications with a product range that includes but is not limited to gas and steam turbines, compressors and turbo chargers.
With presence spread across 100 international sites, she is seeking to employ a dynamic, experienced and business focused Chief Executive Officer.
He/ She would serve the Africa region and oversee Managing Directors within the regions.

Job Purpose: To direct, coordinate and manage the company’s operations, business drive and brand within the region adequately representing/ protecting the interests of key stakeholders/ shareholders.
Key Result Areas
Job Purpose: To direct, coordinate and manage the company’s operations, business drive and brand within the region adequately representing/ protecting the interests of key stakeholders/ shareholders.
Key Result Areas
- Coordination with MDs in the Region
- Strategy & market focus / Giving input for strategy and sales in coordination with BUs
- Showing and enhancing local synergy potentials for different business areas / Alignment of region specific activities on the Group level, act as an umbrella function
- In coordination with BUs, design and execute the strategy with air space control for the region
- Facing customers & authorities with local Managing Directors / General Managers
- Promotion of the company’s sustainable growth, profitability, revenue in cooperation with the related BUs
- Responsibility for the company’s operations in the region with regards to investments, efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources
- Responsibility for and direction of local top management in the region / HSE responsibility
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Educational level: Bachelors Degree with an MBA/ Masters Degree
Working experience required: Minimum of 10 years’ experience.
Competencies:
- Economic or / and engineering background
- Strategic and tactical mindset / Business developer
- Market and customer knowledge in the region
- Knowledge of regional culture / intercultural skills
- Promote matrix organization working
- Cost awareness, profit oriented
Skills required:
- Leadership skills, Big picture thinking, clear and direct communication,
- Change management ability
- Excellent English (spoken and written), additional languages are an advantage
Other certifications: Membership of professional association/body is an added advantage
