Ipas Africa Alliance Policy Associates and Policy Coordinator Jobs in Nairobi Kenya

Ipas is an international NGO specializing in women’s reproductive health and rights. 


Through the Africa Alliance office based in Nairobi, Ipas support s programs and policy strategies in the Africa region. 


The Ipas Africa Alliance seeks to recruit for two Policy Associate Positions and one Policy Coordinator for its policy team in Kenya and the region. 


These two positions are based in Nairobi.


Policy Associates 


2 Positions

  • Contribute to the development of improved policy environment for reproductive health in Kenya and the region
  • Build partnerships in the Africa region and at country level for advocacy on reproductive health including work with media, professional networks, NGOs and women’s groups.
  • Provide inputs to donor proposals and reports
  • Work with team to develop and implement work plans and budgets

Required Qualification, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or relevant discipline;
  • 4+ years relevant work experience, including in the area of advocacy and sexual and reproductive rights;
  • Knowledgeable about institutions and organizations that work on reproductive health;
  • Knowledge of international and regional human rights instruments on reproductive health
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of working days;
  • Ability to work successfully in a cross-cultural, team-based, global environment;
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability in word processing and other Microsoft Office tools;

Policy Coordinator
 

The policy coordinator provides administrative support, maintains communication with team members and partners independently and collaboratively, participates in report writing and helps harmonize activities in the policy unit.
 

Required Qualification, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or equivalent, experience in program coordination and management of logistics. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Excellent administrative and budget preparing skills, and demonstrated computer skills.
