State Corporation Management Accountant, System Administrator, Data Entry Operator, Senior Mechanic, Factory Electrician and Drivers Jobs in Kenya


A State Corporation specializing in tea and forestry production seeks to recruit dynamic individuals of exceptional integrity, competence and skills for the following positions:-

1. Management Accountant 

Grade 8
 
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the officer will perform the activities relating to implementation of internal control systems, policies, procedures and provision of financial information required for fast decision making.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ascertaining proper and optimal control systems and monitoring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Preparation of budget in liaison with other departments.
  • Ensuring effective control of the budget
  • Preparing timely and accurate management reports and distributing to appropriate users.
  • Liaising with other departments on formulation of systems and procedures that are pertinent to proper financial management control.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Participating in development of Board papers.
  • Ensuring proper costing of products and services.
  • Supervising and appraising staff identifying their development and training needs.
  • Participating in analysis of capital expenditure as per budget provision and approved investment policies and procedures.
  • Responding to Audit queries as and when required.
  • Receiving and issuing local purchase order books to appropriate users.
  • Receiving and attending to all issues of stores vouchers.
  • Preparing cash flow projection as per requirement.
  • Preparing budgets as per requirements.
  • Preparing efficiency/productivity rates as required.
  • Participating in tender meetings as and when required.
  • Performing any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and competencies
  • Holder of B.Com or a degree in a related field.
  • CPA (K) or Equivalent.
  • Proficiency in use of ERP Systems, use of Navision will be anadded advantage.
  • Must have 5 years of experience.
2. Procurement and Supplies Officer 

Grade 7
 
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely availability of required supplies and materials at competitive terms and as per approved corporate policies and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and reviewing procurement policies and procedures in liaison with the Corporation’s Board and other relevant committees.
  • Formulating supply policy management to ensure that the corporation’s supplies goals and objectives are met.
  • Reviewing the provision, procurement, stock-holding and stock control policies on a progressive basis
  • Ensuring that supplies accounting and other stores procedures are followed and updated as necessary.
  • Coordinating purchase requirements from user departments.
  • Developing and reviewing of purchasing policies and procedures to keep up with changing economic trends.
  • Procuring various materials and other supplies for the Corporation at the most competitive prices in accordance with approved corporation procedures.
  • Supervising, appraising staff and identifying their development and training needs.
  • Liaising with departments in organizing for specifications of goods and services for procurement.
  • Preparing departmental budget and ensuring effective control.
  • Overseeing the effective storage and issuance of procured goods.
Qualifications and competencies
  • Should be a holder of a university degree in a business related field.
  • Must posses a Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management.
  • Must be a person who is market oriented, cost conscious and quality minded.
  • Must be a person with excellent interpersonal skills, unquestionable integrity, team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a member of Kenya Institute of SuppliesManagement (KISM). 
3. System Administrator 

Grade 7
 
Reporting to the Human Resource and Administration Manager, the officer will be responsible for timely availability and reliability of required information systems and technology for management and dissemination of information for fast decision-making.
 
Key responsibilities
  • Liaising with external computer contractors on maintenance and servicing of equipment, development and implementation of computer system in accordance with the Corporation technology needs.
  • Ensuring timely generation of management information and other reports as required for decision-making
  • Ensuring safe custody of all computer software and hardware accessories, including computer backups.
  • Ensuring timely review and establishment of computer operational and administrative procedures and policies for the Corporation.
  • Reviewing information technology needs and coordinating the requisition of information processing hardware and software in the Corporation.
  • Supervising, appraising staff and identifying their development and training needs.
  • Ensuring preparation of computer operating manuals as per established policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with other departments in computerization of the operations of the Corporation.
  • Ensuring continuous development of information technology in consideration of changing business environment.
  • Ensuring timely establishment of efficient network systems inthe Corporation.
  • Ensuring provision of technical support services.
  • Formulating long-time system plans and strategies of computerization process in the Corporation.
  • Adopting various computer packages to meet users’ needs.
  • Ensuring effective telecommunication systems in the Corporation.
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must possess a degree in IT or any Computer Sciences
  • Diploma in Programming will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in use of ERP System is an added advantage.
  • Must have 5 years experience.
4. Data Entry Operator 

Grade 4
 
Reporting to the Systems Administrator, the officer will be responsible for ensuring timely availability and reliability of required information.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Capturing data and inputting in the computer
  • Preparing information as per approved procedures
  • Updating stocks accounts as per approved procedures
  • Posting transaction to appropriate accounts as per approvedprocedures
  • Generating reports on stock balances
  • Generating reports as and when required
Qualifications and competencies
  • Must be a holder of a minimum qualifications of KCSE C (Plain)
  • Must posses Diploma in Information Technology from a recognized institution
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
5. Senior Mechanic 

Grade 4
 
Reporting to the Transport Officer, the officer will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient maintenance of motor vehicles and equipments in order to meet set targets.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring maintenance and repair of equipments and transport facilities as per set quality.
  • Carrying out comparative estimate cost of repairs and maintenance of motor vehicles and equipments.
  • Ensuring timely implementation of preventive maintenance of schedules.
  • Ensuring that the costs of repairs are maintained within approved levels.
  • Attending to minor breakdown of equipments and motor vehicles in the Corporation.
  • Conducting trouble shooting of motor vehicle and equipment.
  • Conducting installation of new equipment and commissioning within the set standards.
  • Initiating purchases of motor vehicle spare parts required for repairs.
  • Carrying out repair and maintenance of hydraulic systems of motor vehicle/equipment.
  • Attending to emergency breakdowns in the field.
  • Ensuring safe custody of spares, tools and equipment assigned.
  • Carrying out inspection and repairs of motor vehicles.
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and competencies
  • Must be a holder of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge in mechanics and vehicle models.
  • Should be a person of attention to duties.
  • Should have proficiency in computer use.
  • Must have proven hands-on experience of four (4) years.
6. Factory Electrician 

Grade 2

Reporting to the Plant Technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for all electrical operations of the factory and ensuring safety of the electrical machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to and implement policies and strategies on machinery and equipment.
  • Develop maintenance and servicing schedules for all electrical machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure timely inspection, testing, repair, maintenance and service.
  • Plan for replacements and procurements of all required electrical machinery and equipment.
  • Proper record keeping of all factory electrical machinery and equipment.
  • Provide guidelines and basic training on proper use and maintenance of electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure adherence to the health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure provision of safe working conditions within the factory and eliminate hazards and risks.
  • Prepare and avail information and reports on all activities.
Qualifications and competencies
  • Must be a holder of minimum qualifications of KCSE B-(Minus)
  • Must possess Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
7. Drivers 

Grade 1
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and providing commendable general office and transport services.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Driving of vehicles safely.
  • Ensuring proper entries in the work ticket.
  • Ensuring good servicing and fueling of the vehicle.
  • Conducting trouble shooting of motor vehicle and equipment.
  • Ensuring good custody of vehicles while on duty.
  • Assisting in vehicle maintenance.
  • Observing transport rules and regulations.
  • Reporting on expired licences/insurances.
  • Providing messenger services.
  • Ensuring vehicle cleanliness.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications and competencies
  • Must be a holder of a KCSE Certificate.
  • Must possess a valid driving licence Class BCE.
  • Must possess a valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Those with Class D shall have an added advantage.
