UN Women Programme Expert JP GEWE Job in Kenya


Programme Expert JP GEWE

UN Women under the auspices of the UN Joint Programme on Gender and Women’s Empowerment (JP GEWE) is procuring the services of a Programme Expert to support the coordination and implementation of the JP GEWE.
 
Specific tasks for the assignment include, but are not limited to (please request comprehensive job description before applying):
  • Support UN and national coordination mechanisms for GEWE (coordination, management)
  • Facilitate the implementation of key joint UN activities (strategic facilitation and conceptual development); with emphasis on the UNiTE Campaign and UN international days.
  • Support the MTP II/UNDAF Roadmap implementation process from a UN gender perspective
  • Provide oversight and guidance to enhance clear, consistent and transparent communication among all partners and the development of and information management system;
  • Keep track of funding opportunities and gaps, with particular emphasis on the next JP cycle.
  • Financial analysis of monitoring of the JP GEWE
  • Guide and oversee the M&E of the JP GEWE, ensuring key deadlines are met and the documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
Under the supervision of the Joint Programme Coordinator and the matrix management of the Country Director the program analyst will:
 
Education:
 
A Master’s degree in Gender and development. If a Master’s degree is missing, at least 15 years of relevant work experience in programming , institutional development & capacity building in the area of gender and development.
 
Key Competencies
  • Commitment and skill in participatory planning, training and module development ;
  • Constructive attitude and ability to approach work with positive energy;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver under constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to re-organize and adjust plans fast to evolving situation
  • Strong strategic planner with relevant experience with facilitating and delivering training.
  • Understanding of database development
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication ability;
  • Good understanding of various planning, monitoring and evaluation frameworks;
  • Understanding of the Medium Term Plan Development process of government
