Qualifications and experience
The Principal shall be the Chief Executive of the University College and should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Be a Professor or an Associate Professor with an earned Ph. D or its equivalent from a recognised university.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior academic and management positions at the level of senior lecturer and above.
- Demonstrate leadership experience in a modern university environment.
- Ability and leadership skills to effectively coordinate the academic and administrative functions in the University College. Provide academic and research leadership.
- Knowledge and experience in strategic planning and master planning in education development.
- Proven capacity to promote learning, teaching, research and development and extension in a University.
- Have a good understanding of the national laws, policies and strategies governing university education and training in Kenya.
- Have a broad awareness of the factors and conditions shaping the development of higher education in the country.
- Have a good understanding of the factors and conditions shaping the development of higher education in the country.
- Demonstrate evidence of excellent interpersonal relations, good communication and negotiation skills.
- Have international experience and collaboration in higher education.
- Have credible track record in resource mobilisation.
- Be of the highest ethical standard, integrity and professionalism.
Duties and responsibilities
Working under the general direction of the Council, the successful applicant shall:
Working under the general direction of the Council, the successful applicant shall:
- Be the academic and administrative head of the University College.
- Steer the formulation and implementation of the College’s strategic and master plan.
- Have overall day-to-day management and responsibility of the design, direction, organisation and administration of programmes of the University College.
- Be responsible to the Council for the general conduct and discipline of staff and students.
- Ensure effective accountability to the Council for the proper management of the University College’s assets, facilities and resources.
Terms and conditions of service
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing terms and conditions of service.
Employment will be on a five-year performance based contract and will be renewable once depending on performance and mutual agreement.
2. Deputy Principal (Administration, Planning and Finance)

Duties and responsibilities
The Deputy Principal (Administration, Planning and Finance) will be the Principal Assistant to the University College Principal and will take charge of Administration, Planning and Finance Division.
The Deputy Principal (Administration, Planning and Finance) shall be the head of the Administration, Planning and Finance Division and shall be responsible for the human resource, administrative, financial and infrastructural development matters.
The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the Administration, Planning and Finance Department operates effectively and efficiently in line with the vision and the mission of the University College.
3. Deputy Principal (Academic and Student Affairs)

Duties and responsibilities
Deputy Principal (Academic and Student Affairs) will be the principal assistant to the University College Principal and will take charge of Academic & Student Affairs Division.
The successful candidate shall be the head of the Academic Division and shall be in charge of all academic, research and extension activities and student affairs of the University College.
The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the academic departments, students affairs, research and outreach activities operate effectively and efficiently and in line with the vision and Mission of the University College.

Qualification and Experience for position of Deputy Principals
- Be a Professor or an Associate Professor with an earned Ph. D who has at least six (6) years experience in Senior Management position in university sector or any other large institution with outstanding and internationally recognised scholarship record.
- Demonstrate competence in administrative and academic leadership in academic/research environment.
- Have a track record of success and performance characterised by visionary and strategic thought, rapid growth and service delivery as well as translation of ideas into value outputs.
- Have the capacity to motivate and influence staff, students and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate evidence of outstanding ability to communicate effectively and good interpersonal skills.
- Show good understanding of University functions and procedures coupled with a passion for the promotion of learning, excellence in teaching, research and innovation with the highest ethical standards, integrity and professionalism.
- Have skills, capacity and determination to initiate and facilitate the development of relevant and quality market and society driven academic programmes.
- Have proven capacity to promote learning, teaching, research and development in the University setting.
- Have a good understanding of national policies and strategies governing University education and training in Kenya.
- Have a broad awareness of the factors and conditions shaping the development of higher education in the country.
