We provide business support, marketing and branding support, and we safely collect and convert the waste into valuable by-products. 

We serve nearly 10,000 people every single day with hygienic sanitation through a network of over 200 Fresh Life Toilets.

We are recruiting for the position of a Fabrication and Installation Manager.

Responsibilities
 
The Fabrication & Installation Manager is responsible for the everyday running of the workshop area, production of all parts necessary for toilet assembly and actual installation of the toilets in the community. 

The responsibilities for this role will include:
 
Fabrication
  • Plan and Schedule Fabrication to meet the required work orders. The Fabricated parts include Pre-fabricated Concrete, steel and timber parts.
  • Oversee production to guarantee maximum plan adherence. Look to improve efficiencies within all fabrication stations.
  • Maintain quality standards for all parts fabricated at the workshop.
  • Conduct periodic work planning for staff under area of responsibility. Conduct continuous performance evaluation of the same. Guide staff on areas of improvement.
  • Train and develop workmen in line with the required path for their professional development.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate occupational health and safety measures in area of responsibility.
  • Champion continuous improvement within all fabrication work areas with a focus towards Quality, Cost and timely execution of all tasks.
  • Improve work place organization.
  • Provide periodic reports to senior management on departmental performance.
Installation
  • Plan and schedule toilet installations and corresponding maintenance activities.
  • Oversee all installations to guarantee maximum adherence to the plan and to the required quality standards.
  • Conduct periodic work planning for staff under area of responsibility and conduct continuous performance evaluation of the same while guiding staff on areas of improvement.
  • Train and develop workmen in line with the required path, for their professional development.
  • Conduct Continuous Improvement initiatives on the method of installation to reduce cost and improve the lead times of installation while looking at ways to improve the quality of installation.
  • Provide periodic reports to senior management on departmental performance.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate occupational health and safety measures in area of responsibility.
  • Offer advice on improvements to the toilet design with regards to ease of installation, structural integrity, durability and ease of transporting parts to be assembled.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree (with honors) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in construction projects design and (or) implementation. Good understanding of structural design.
  • Demonstrable project management experience.
  • Experience producing prefabricated concrete desired.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other design applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated capacity for self-organization.
