Our client is an up and coming beverage manufacturing company seeking to hire a Male Human Resource Manager to be responsible for the general running and management of the HR department. 

Preferred candidates should be currently or previously working in a manufacturing set up. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a HR strategy based on the overall Company strategy to ensure that business needs are met
  • Develop a HR budget based on the strategy and effectively manage it to ensure cost management goals are achieved
  • Develop and implement HR management policies and procedures and monitor all HR activities and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Manage the recruitment process in a manner that ensures that right calibre of employees is hired and that new employees receive proper instructions regarding their duties and terms of employment.
  • Generate policies and procedures for performance management process and all related functions including staff appraisal, training planning and implementation and incentive schemes. 
  • Advice and lead the management team during CBA agreements with the union.
  • Manage industrial relations matters and offer training, advice and general guidance to managers and supervisors on labour laws and related market practices so as to ensure a harmonious work environment.
  • Handle staff grievances in a prompt, conscientious manner while paying heed to the company’s business needs and policies.
  • Train managers and supervisors on basic staff management and disciplinary skills.
  • Continually review and update the terms and conditions of service of employees to ensure that the Company remains within common market practice and communicate to the staff appropriately.
  • Monitor and ensures that compliance issues are adequately addressed and maintained in all factories and plays Preparation of Manpower audit reports to facilitate manpower planning and succession planning
  • Facilitate processes for recruitment, promotions and acting appointments.
  • Management of staff and other departmental records
  • Coordination and implementation of Human Resource Projects (Job Evaluation, Review of Scheme of Service, Review of HR policies, Review of HR processes and documentation)
  • Facilitate processing and running of Payroll system
  • Maintenance of Salary Structures
  • Responsible for all staff matters in the unit pertaining to performance appraisal, training and development, discipline, transfers, communication and adherence to company policies
  • Play an active role along with the Compliance team during social and compliance audits.
  • Manage all insurance matters ( both general and medical insurance, Group Life cover and Group Personal accident cover)
  • Prepares draft warning, termination and dismissal letters for employees
  • Effective records keeping on staff
  • Maintain up-to-date records on medical and other work related claims by employees
  • Keeps records of industrial accidents and Compensation for injured personnel
  • Ensure that payment is effected according to existing laws
  • Liaises with the line managers regarding training of new employees in HR roles
  • Offering HR support to all company staff
  • Handling Occupational Safety and Health matters
  • Generates administrative reports on HR as and when required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Holder of a Bachelor degree in Business (with concentration in HR)
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.
  • Have 2-4 years’ experience in Human Resource Management in a manufacturing/ flower farm set up.
  • Must be aged between 32-36 years old
  • Exposure in health and safety is a must
  • Proven experience in developing & implementing Employee policies and procedures.
  • Team player willing to work with minimum supervision
  • Be a person of integrity with high morals and professional ethical values.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and analysis skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task between various briefs
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize.

The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) is an independent National Human Rights Institution created by Article 59 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and established by the Government of Kenya through an Act of Parliament (the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights Act 2011) and under the United Nations Paris Principles. 

KNCHR’s mandate includes furthering the protection and promotion of human rights in Kenya, acting as a watchdog over the Government in the area of human rights, and the provision of leadership in moving the country towards a human rights state.

KNCHR fulfils its human rights mandate through a number of programmes, including Research and Compliance, Public Education and Training, Complaints and Investigations, Redress and Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. 

The Commissions’ main office is in Nairobi with four regional offices in Wajir, Kitale, Mombasa and Kisumu. Officers may serve in the Head Office or in any of the regional offices.

Senior Human Rights Officer

Key duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in and guide the conceptualization, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the work of the Northern Kenya Regional Office
  • Coordinate implementation and management of the complaints handling process, investigations and other key areas of work as stipulated under Section 8 of the KNCHR Act, 2011 and as may relevant to the Northern Kenya Region
  • Prepare and present quality and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports of the work of the Regional office, including reports of financial expenditure by the Regional Office
  • Manage and supervise all staff of the Regional Office, including management of financial resources and fixed assets
  • Ensure compliance with the policies of the Commission in the running of the Regional Office
  • Ensure proper flow of information and communication between the Head Office and the Regional Office, as well as with other Regional Offices.
  • Build and maintain sustainable partnerships with both state and non state actors in the region on behalf of the Commission
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Masters degree in a Social Science from a recognized institution with five years experience in a busy programme-related environment
    Or
  • A Bachelors Degree in a Social Science from a recognized institution with seven years experience in busy programme-related environment.

Main purpose of the Job: To provide effective and efficient human resources and administrative management support to the Agency.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Description:

Purpose
: The Lab Technician will be based at UNIM Clinic Laboratory in Kisumu to receive, verify and analyze specimens, record results on appropriate forms and report results promptly to the clinical staff. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the laboratory equipment and specimens for tests.
  • Assist in collecting and performing quantitative and qualitative laboratory analysis of blood, serum, urine and other biological specimens from study patients.
  • Laboratory assay tests will include, but not be limited to: light microscopy, culture, antibody testing, specimen staining.
  • Keep proper and clear documents of tests performed and results as per protocol.
  • Record test results in research study databases.
  • In partnership with the procurement and stores, manage the consumables and equipment inventory and place timely orders for re-stocking of necessary items.
  • Assist and participate in the collection and packaging of specimens for transfer to other labs.
  • Keep information about clients in strict confidence.
  • Be fully responsible and accountable for NRHS resources assigned to you.
  • Maintain high standards in good laboratory practice (GLP), laboratory safety, and laboratory hygiene/ infection control.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain highest standards of ethics, confidentiality and professionalism in the conduct of laboratory duties.

Qualifications and competencies
  • Must have excellent knowledge and previous experience in microbiology and light microscopy.
  • Ability to work well in a team and with minimum supervision.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in a busy clinical or research laboratory with previous work in microbiology.
  • Good laboratory and analytical skills.
  • At least a diploma in Medical Laboratory technology
  • Must be registered by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist & Technicians Board.

Job Description:

Purpose:
 Responsible for data entry and management of data gathered within and outside the clinic.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Processes research study and patient documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution.
  • Enters clients and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
  • Tests clients and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data; reviewing output.
  • Secures information by completing data base backups.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains confidentiality.

Job Description:
 
Purpose: Carry out & coordinate all mobilization and tracing activities in the district
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with study team, develop and implement recruitment strategy for research study participants.
  • Provide recommendations for modification of recruitment and tracing protocols as needed, including narrative reports as requested.
  • Linking up and working together with various stakeholders in Kisumu District in the promotion of research study participant recruitment in Kisumu district
  • Assist in implementation of recruitment sessions at public places such as bus stages and beaches
  • Support the development of key messages and coming up with innovative ways of recruiting research study participants from the community.
  • With the Project Coordinator, develop strong relationships with selected CBOs and work with them for recruitment of research study participants
Qualifications and competencies
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a recruiter/tracer for male circumcision or for a research study.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Purpose: 

Responsible for assisting in office administration, reception and tracking of research participants and clients, maintenance of study files, procurement and monitoring of inventory.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Receive office Visitors and incoming calls and forward them to the appropriate officers.
  • Assist in sending goods through courier services or any other appropriate mode.
  • Receive and identify potential research participants.
  • Scheduling and registering study participants for study visits and clinical visits.
  • Initiate and maintain research records for study participants; identifying, rectifying, and reporting missing components.
  • Assist in supervision of photocopying and arranging of monthly financial receipts.
  • Ensure all files and records are managed appropriately.
  • File data and perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned for other departments.
  • Order and maintain relevant office supplies for effectiveness of office duties.
  • Operate a variety of standard office machines including computers, phone, fax, photocopying machines among others.
  • Assisting with study documents and sensitive materials while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Coordinating travel and accommodation logistics for NRHS staff.
