Overall Responsibility: The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other matters and projects.

Security Officer
 
Overall Responsibility

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe and secure environment for company property, clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of the hospital guests, colleagues and hospital premises

He/she will maintain relevant equipment in terms of calibration and alignment and will be expected to comply with relevant policies and procedures including but not limited to those related to safety and infection control at the Medical Center.

Requirements
  • Higher National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or above
  • Minimum five years working experience in a busy medical laboratory
  • Excellent knowledge of laboratory operations and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in haematology, serology and quality control.
  • Ability to write and review SOP’s
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to work with minimum supervision

Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS) is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Kisumu dedicated to improving reproductive health of men and women. NRHS has several research projects related to HIV prevention and reproductive health. 

 
It runs support groups for PLWHA and Key Populations, and is working with the Ministry of Health to scale up male circumcision for HIV prevention. NRHS wishes to recruit a clinician with research experience to be in charge of its research program and to provide technical assistance with program activities.  

Job Title  :  Clinical Officer

Job Description:
 
Purpose: Responsible for care and follow up for participants enrolled in research studies and non-research clients.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To screen patients and ensure that they are fit for the research study.
  • Explain the research study protocol to the patients and administer consent to eligible clients.
  • Screen and treat STIs; give health education on HIV and STI prevention and reproductive health.
  • Provide VMMC services.
  • To ensure proper study participants’ record keeping and accurate entry of data before and after study related procedures.

Purpose
: The Lab Technician will be based at UNIM Clinic Laboratory in Kisumu to receive, verify and analyze specimens, record results on appropriate forms and report results promptly to the clinical staff. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the laboratory equipment and specimens for tests.
  • Assist in collecting and performing quantitative and qualitative laboratory analysis of blood, serum, urine and other biological specimens from study patients.
  • Laboratory assay tests will include, but not be limited to: light microscopy, culture, antibody testing, specimen staining.
  • Keep proper and clear documents of tests performed and results as per protocol.
  • Record test results in research study databases.

  • Responsible for preparation and distribution of consolidated monthly and weekly reporting process for management, financial reporting and any other company communications processes as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety initiatives and enforcement, calibration program, internal quality audits, preventative maintenance, KPI metrics, purchasing and any other projects.
  • Developing and facilitating capacity building of staff to achieve optimal performance and motivational levels.
  • Determining and coordinating the reporting and communication requirements and review the financial and operational reports.
  • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking for best practices and standards in business management.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and updating strategy plans with senior management.
  • Manage the implementation of multi laboratory operations guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations, and monitors compliance.
  • Researching and analysing new business opportunities and managing the development of these opportunities with stakeholders while keeping abreast with the market trends.
  • Managing key external stakeholders and business relationships that relate to company’s strategy and growth.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or its equivalent from a recognized university.
  • 7- 10 years of commercial or scientific laboratory experience in a multinational organization or a research center.
  • An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Has extensively undertaken broad scientific research and publication.
  • Proven experience in wet chemistry, bacteriology, virology, food and dairy hygiene.
  • Extensive experience in laboratory testing of food and milk samples.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook)
