Senior Investor Relations Officer 
Detailed Job description and duties 

Reporting to the Chief Investor Relations Manager (CIRM), the Senior Investor Relations Officer (middle management role) will perform the following functions and duties: 

1. To support the implementation of the ATI’s membership development strategy including: 

       a. Country membership expansion in Africa 

       b. Membership expansion to Non-African States 

       c. Recruitment of target Regional Organizations and Export Credit Agencies 

       d. Membership of Private Corporations, and; 

       e. Membership by International Development Financial Institutions 

2. To participate in or conduct membership missions to the above potential members; 

3. To prepare background information on target countries and partners, strategic papers, presentations and briefing notes as and when required; 

4. To assist the ATI in fund mobilization in support of membership expansion and development activities including but not limited to: 

       a. conducting research on the donor community, their specialized areas of activities and their funding modalities 

       b. assisting in developing donor related strategy to enable ATI raise funds to up-scale the organisation’s development and outreach activities 

       c. drafting request for funding proposals and participating in their negotiations. 

5. To advise the CIRM and when required senior management on strategic partnerships with key bilateral and multilateral partners; 

6. To assist in managing key stakeholders relations in particular current Member States, prospective members and donors including preparing periodic updates on ATI achievements responding to enquiries, and preparing related correspondence; 

7. To prepare monthly or quarterly and other specific reports as required 
 

Qualifications and Experience
  1. A university degree in International Economic Relations, International Trade, Business Development, Development Finance or other related fields. A master degree or proven experience would be an added advantage;
  2. A clear understanding of membership drive, knowledge of stakeholders consulting processes, African  government decision-making processes and mobilization of donor funding;
  3. Understanding regional cooperation and integration, key players, different regional integration programmes and Regional Economic Communities in Africa;
  4. Good communication skills in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of French will be an added advantage;
  5. Excellent Knowledge of MS Office in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  6. A minimum of eight (8) year experience working with governments, regional economic organizations, multilateral institutions and/or cooperating partners.
  7. A proven ability to understand the objectives and business of ATI
  8. Ability to work closely with the ATI’s potential members and government representatives at all levels.

Role Purpose: To coordinate insurance activities in the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
 
1. Responsibilities / Execution Activities
  • Ensuring that insurance covers including those compulsory under local law are in place in good time. 
  • Arranging covers from time to time on need basis; 
  • Reporting all insurance related incidences to insurance brokers; 
  • Documentation of GPA insurance claims for the company and following up on payment to the claimant
  • Documentation of general insurance claims and coordinating with the broker for prompt settlement.
  • Organizing vehicle valuation at the end of every insurance period and compiling insurance schedules for all vehicles to be insured (company and staff vehicles); 
  • Liaising with assessors to ensure that vehicles are assessed after accidents to ensure that vehicles are assessed after accidents to ensure repair authority is given and release of the vehicle after repairs.
  • Obtaining and analyzing insurance renewal quotes from the underwriters/brokers; 
  • Preparing renewal schedules for the company policies e.g. motor vehicle, IT assets, company equipment
  • Arranging Insurance risk survey and audits and accompanying insurance survey teams during the exercise;
  • Providing all necessary information and documentation needed for renewal exercises to the insurers and brokers
  • Meeting with loss adjustors/assessors.
  • Managing the Group Life Policy, ensuring that all members are informed accordingly and ensuring that member’s benefits reflect their current salaries. 
  • Updating salary records and informing the broker on changes in the salary.
  • Ensuring that beneficiaries of deceased members of staff are compensated in the shortest time possible.
  • 24 hours for burial expenses and death in service benefits within a month, subject to documentation of the claim
  • Analyze claims and identify trends in order to propose loss prevention/mitigation measures; 
  • Act as a focal point for all insurance related matters in the company.
  • Review contractual arrangements with 3rd parties in order to identify any insurance requirement and ensure that;
a) They are in line with best practice.
 
b) Company exposure is mitigated as much as possible.
  • Identify and eliminate any duplicated insurance cost;
a) Identify any insurance cost that falls outside local legal requirements.

KPIs (Measurable parameters of the role) & Dimensions (What is the span of the role)
  • Premium invoices to be paid within 30 days of receipt.
  • Claims: Ensure that all necessary documentation is submitted to insurers on a timely basis and that claims are settled as soon as possible (as per claims handling procedures) and follow up on any possible claim recovery from 3rd party.
  • Where applicable, accurate booking of insurance transactions, Audit reports on insurance are and Full compliance with local law.

Insurance Company Credit Control Assistant Manager Job in Kenya

We are a general insurance company looking for a skilled, results-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, passionate and extroverted person with a “can-do” attitude to fill the following position:

Position: Assistant Manager – Credit Control
 

Responsible to: Head of Finance

Overall Responsibility
 

To ensure that the monthly statements are produced accurately and on a timely basis, and that the credit control function is well managed.


Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that brokers/agents observe the statutory credit period; collect all premiums due.
  • Scrutinize and dispatch monthly premium statements to all brokers, agents and direct clients, latest by the 10th of the following month. Handle correspondence from brokers, agents and insurance companies relating to premium collection.
  • Liaise with underwriters on matters relating to premium collection and account reconciliations.
  • Process Commissions of intermediaries and ensure timely receipt of the same by the 2nd of each month
  • Ensure that the agent accounts are reconciled every month as a control measure before statements are printed.
  • Prepare monthly reports relating to debt collection and liaise with our legal debt collectors where debt collection has been referred to them.
  • Ensure IPFs presented are fully realized and the proceeds correctly allocated to the payer.
  • Ensure recovery of outstanding premium prior claim processing by participating in the routine review of claims
  • Produce a monthly report for discussion by the credit committee.
  • Dealing with staff deployment issues within the section and ensuring optimum utilization of human resource.
  • On a regular basis reviewing both the computerized and manual systems to ensure they are efficient, identifying areas that need to be computerized or enhanced to improve overall efficiency and remove duplication of roles and transactions.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

  • A business related degree from a recognized university
  • CPA(K) or equivalent
  • 5 years relevant working experience

Customer Service & Complaints Handling Manager

Reporting to Head of Marketing and Distribution, the Customer Service & Complaints Handling Manager will ensure that the customers’ needs are understood and attended to in a manner that satisfies the customer and enhances the company’s image.

Job Responsibilities
  • Attend to and resolve customers’ queries and complaints over the phone, Face to face interactions and through written correspondence
  • Handle customer service issues that may arise in underwriting and claims
  • Ensure systems and procedures covering the front desk operations are adhered to

Claims Analyst

Reporting to General Manager, the Claims Analyst will ensure that general insurance claims are handled expeditiously and in a professional manner thereby meeting the customer expectations and the Company’s objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure reserves are correctly set and regularly reviewed to reflect current position of the company’s liability
  • Monitor the performance of service providers for effective service delivery
  • Constantly analyse the performance of various classes of business and give recommendations to management on corrective measures to ensure the company remains profitable
  • Ensure that claims are registered and acknowledged promptly and customers are constantly updated on the status of the claim to ensure early conclusion of the claim and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that recoveries are initiated and followed to conclusion so as to reduce the final cost of the claim
  • Ensure that cheque requisitions are raised upon receipt of discharge vouchers/invoices to facilitate cheque processing

Underwriting & Reinsurance Assistant Manager

Reporting to General Manager, the Underwriting & Reinsurance Assistant Manager will oversee management, administration and the control of the company’s underwriting reinsurance operations to ensure profitable, quality and timely service.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee sound underwriting (management, assessment and managing of risks) for general business
  • Ensure documentation is prepared correctly and released to customers within the standard of service for effective service delivery
  • Ensure that effective business relationships with all our stakeholders are maintained to assist in meeting overall company objective
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and treaty requirements
  • Signing of accountable documents to ensure that they are as per terms agreed and that they get the legal effect
  • Ensure proper management of all security documents within the department for accounting purposes
  • Ensure preparation of management report for the department to advice the status of the department at any time
  • Ensure timely preparation of various statistics and information for re-insurers, re-insurance brokers and Insurance Regulatory Authority to show performance of the treaty as well as comply with the Regulator.
  • Manage the facultative business (underwriting, claims and reconciliation)
