Hospital Credit Controller Job in Nairobi Kenya

Our client in the health sector is seeking to recruit a Hospital Credit Controller to join their team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Positively impact cash flow and working capital by ensuring the accurate and timely processing and payments of accounts receivable.
  • Ensure that all credit control responsibilities and duties are carried out accurately and within set time limits, whilst providing a first class service to all customers.
  • Managing credit control and debt management activities including supervising a team of credit control operators
  • Maximizing cash collection across the board.
  • Cash allocation and reconciliation
  • Rectification of previously mismanaged accounts
  • Problem solving and timely decision making
  • Meeting monthly and yearly targets
  • Daily management of debts and collections
  • Full accountability of all allocated accounts
Qualifications
  • B com Degree – Accounting Option
  • CPA 2
  • Credit Management Certificate – will be an added advantage
  • 3 – 4 years in a hospital environment (MUST)
  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • MUST have experience in in–patient services and individual clients.

Insurance Company Credit Control Assistant Manager Job in Kenya

We are a general insurance company looking for a skilled, results-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, passionate and extroverted person with a “can-do” attitude to fill the following position:

Position: Assistant Manager – Credit Control
 

Responsible to: Head of Finance
 

Department: Finance
 

Overall Responsibility
 

To ensure that the monthly statements are produced accurately and on a timely basis, and that the credit control function is well managed.


Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that brokers/agents observe the statutory credit period; collect all premiums due.
  • Scrutinize and dispatch monthly premium statements to all brokers, agents and direct clients, latest by the 10th of the following month. Handle correspondence from brokers, agents and insurance companies relating to premium collection.
  • Liaise with underwriters on matters relating to premium collection and account reconciliations.
  • Process Commissions of intermediaries and ensure timely receipt of the same by the 2nd of each month
  • Ensure that the agent accounts are reconciled every month as a control measure before statements are printed.
  • Prepare monthly reports relating to debt collection and liaise with our legal debt collectors where debt collection has been referred to them.
  • Ensure IPFs presented are fully realized and the proceeds correctly allocated to the payer.
  • Ensure recovery of outstanding premium prior claim processing by participating in the routine review of claims
  • Produce a monthly report for discussion by the credit committee.
  • Dealing with staff deployment issues within the section and ensuring optimum utilization of human resource.
  • On a regular basis reviewing both the computerized and manual systems to ensure they are efficient, identifying areas that need to be computerized or enhanced to improve overall efficiency and remove duplication of roles and transactions.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Minimum requirements

  • A business related degree from a recognized university
  • CPA(K) or equivalent
  • 5 years relevant working experience

Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, the person will be required to perform the following key tasks:-

Key Tasks
  • Setting up an appropriate model and structures for micro and group lending.
  • Facilitate refining existing as well as development of new micro credit products..
  • Marketing of products in the area of operation.
  • Training of all Micro credit customers on the Sacco lending policies, culture and such skills as basic financial management.
  • Facilitate recruitment and registration of clients in existing and new groups.
  • Loan disbursements and deposit mobilization that meet defined growth and quality targets.
  • Preparation of periodic performance reports.
  • Responsible for collating information on clients.

Qualifications and experience:
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
  • A diploma in microfinance will be an added advantage.

Branch Manager

Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, the person will be required to perform the following key tasks:-

  • Coordinating day to day operations of the branch.
  • Driving business growth of the branch to meet key targets.
  • Provide leadership direction, supervision and pace to the branch staff.
  • Manage and control branch expenditure within agreed budgets.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Co-operative management/banking/business administration or in a business related field.
  • CPA/ACCA.
  • Minimum (2) years experience in a management level preferably in SACCO or banking environment.
  • Excellent data analysis, management and reporting skills.
  • He or she should be conversant with spreadsheets and word processing packages.

Credit Officers
Reporting to the credit supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for appraisals, monitoring and follow up of loans to clients as well as for ensuring assigned portfolio grows and is of acceptable quality.

Key Tasks
  • Loan appraisals.
  • Marketing of Sacco credit products to ensure growth of healthy loan book.
  • Collating information on borrowers.
  • Monitoring of individual borrowers to ensure installments are up to date.
  • Receive potential clients and conduct an initial appraisal.
  • Maintain quality portfolio by aggressively follow up accounts in arrears as specified and do regular call visits to all borrowing clients.
Qualifications
  • Have a minimum of a Diploma in business admin/co-operative management.
  • Professional qualifications in Credit management (KNEC/KASNEB/ACIB) will be an added advantage.
  • At least two (2) years experience in a similar or related position.
  • Have good knowledge of the micro-finance industry and practices.
  • Should not be more than 35 years old.
  • Possession of a driving/motor cycle riding license will be an added advantage.

Credit Officer Job Description and Qualifications
 

Responsibilities

  • Recruit potential borrowers within the communities where we work
  • Register and train groups on our leasing program, economics of our business model for farmers, and basic financial literacy
  • Compile documentation for lease processing at head office
  • Hold monthly meetings with borrower groups
  • Monitor harvests to ensure that all of the product purchased arrives at the local collection center and subsequently at the Nairobi HQ
  • Record loan repayment deductions and update borrower data in the Management Information System
  • Coordinate with the company’s Credit Unit team on improving systems and processes

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of microfinance operations
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the microfinance field
  • Solid understanding of the group lending methodology
  • Solid track record in microfinance product sales and repayments
  • Willingness to work across Western Kenya
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good understanding of agricultural finance
  • Basic computer skills and an ability and willingness to learn new technology

Job Title: Credit Controller (3 Months Contract)
 
Reports To: Finance Manager
 
Salary: Kshs: 30,000
 
Role Objective
 
The Credit Controller is responsible for chasing outstanding invoices to the company and plays a vital role in the cash-flow of the organization ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Chasing debt by telephone and email and reducing debtor days.
  • Allocating payments in accordance with customer remittances.
  • Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements to clients as may be agreed from time to time.
  • Liaising with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries.
  • Ensuring that all major accounts work to agreed order to cash cycle.
  • Daily and month end reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Investigating and resolving queries relating to nonpayment of invoices.
  • Working to strict monthly and annually collections targets.
  • To verify facts of all sales returns before passing a credit note. Ensure that all supporting documentations are duly authorized and factual before processing of a credit note while adhering to the policies and procedures of the credit department.
  • Maintain records of all customers in a file (invoices, credit notes, remittance slips, copies of withholding VAT and any manner of correspondences with the customer) and ensure that the same is filed system and in order for ease of traceability.
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required.
