Winas Sacco Records and Information Officer Job in Embu Kenya

Winas Sacco Society Limited, a Sacco operating from Embu County wishes to recruit suitably qualified and experienced individuals in the following position:

Records and Information Officer 

Ref: RO/01

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Records and Information Officer (registry officer’s) roles and responsibilities shall be as below:

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertaking all operations in the registry including:
  • Ensuring that all records are properly kept;
  • Storing and documenting stationery;
  • Receiving and documentation of application  forms;
  • Ensuring that documents pertaining to every member/customer are filed and securely maintained in a member’s file;
  • Maintaining registry incoming and outgoing mails ;
  • Ensuring that all members’/customers’  files are promptly returned to the cabinet after use, noting that all filing areas shall be out of bounds to unauthorized persons;
  • Maintaining a record that leads to tracing of all the documents in circulation;
  • Automation of records management at the Sacco
  • Filing executed loan application forms after recovery;
  • Disposal of documents;
  • Mailing and mail handling; and
  • Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
 
Appointment to the position will be made from persons who:
  • Are  holders of a minimum of C in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education ;
  • Have a Diploma  in Library Science, Records and Information Management or Knowledge Management; and
  • Have satisfactory served as a registry clerk in the SACCO or in like organizations for at least three (3) years.

The Marketing Officer is responsible for the coordination of all marketing and social media and networking activities of the Sacco;

Fortune Sacco is a rural based Sacco licensed by SASRA operating across Kirinyaga County.

In order to consolidate our growth and as a result of expansion in our branch network, we are desirous of recruiting suitable persons into the following vacancies:-

Micro Credit Manager

Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, the person will be required to perform the following key tasks:-

Key Tasks
  • Setting up an appropriate model and structures for micro and group lending.
  • Facilitate refining existing as well as development of new micro credit products..
  • Marketing of products in the area of operation.
  • Training of all Micro credit customers on the Sacco lending policies, culture and such skills as basic financial management.
  • Facilitate recruitment and registration of clients in existing and new groups.
  • Loan disbursements and deposit mobilization that meet defined growth and quality targets.
  • Preparation of periodic performance reports.
  • Responsible for collating information on clients.
  • Maintain quality portfolio by ensuring proper loan appraisal, effective monitoring and aggressively follow up accounts in arrears.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
  • A diploma in microfinance will be an added advantage.
  • Have knowledge in group and individual lending.
  • At least two (2) years experience in a similar or related position.
  • Have good knowledge of the micro-finance industry and practices.
  • Should not be more than 37 years old.
  • Possession of a driving license will be an added advantage.
Branch Manager

Reporting to the Branch Operations Manager, the person will be required to perform the following key tasks:-

Key Tasks
  • Coordinating day to day operations of the branch.
  • Driving business growth of the branch to meet key targets.
  • Provide leadership direction, supervision and pace to the branch staff.
  • Manage and control branch expenditure within agreed budgets.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Co-operative management/banking/business administration or in a business related field.
  • CPA/ACCA.
  • Minimum (2) years experience in a management level preferably in SACCO or banking environment.
  • Excellent data analysis, management and reporting skills.
  • He or she should be conversant with spreadsheets and word processing packages.
  • Not more than 35 years of age.
  • Possession of a driving license will be an added advantage.
Credit Officers
Reporting to the credit supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for appraisals, monitoring and follow up of loans to clients as well as for ensuring assigned portfolio grows and is of acceptable quality.

Key Tasks
  • Loan appraisals.
  • Marketing of Sacco credit products to ensure growth of healthy loan book.
  • Collating information on borrowers.
  • Monitoring of individual borrowers to ensure installments are up to date.
  • Receive potential clients and conduct an initial appraisal.
  • Maintain quality portfolio by aggressively follow up accounts in arrears as specified and do regular call visits to all borrowing clients.
Qualifications
  • Have a minimum of a Diploma in business admin/co-operative management.
  • Professional qualifications in Credit management (KNEC/KASNEB/ACIB) will be an added advantage.
  • At least two (2) years experience in a similar or related position.
  • Have good knowledge of the micro-finance industry and practices.
  • Should not be more than 35 years old.
  • Possession of a driving/motor cycle riding license will be an added advantage.

Main Function:

This is a key sales leadership position for the catholic owned Media houses and an established cluster of Radio stations and a countrywide newspaper.

The position will be for an initial 6 month contract with an option for renewal

The holder of the position will be tasked with formulating and implementing a Marketing Strategy for Waumini Communications Limited, its subsidiaries, newspaper and Radio brands, and the control of the marketing department to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goals
 
Job Functions

Guided by the Catholic Ethics in Advertising ;
  • Lead the sales team in generating new business accounts and increase revenue to the company
  • Design and deliver top line revenue and meet targets as agreed with the supervisor
  • Provide accurate forecast of monthly and quarterly revenue to the director and other relevant officers and formulate ways to achieve the targets
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers
  • Identify marketing opportunities and competitor analysis with the aim to improve the marketing of the company brands and the effective promotion of increase audience and listenership of the company’s stations.
  • Build a solid direct sales portfolio and develop opportunities to maximise sales by developing public relations and maintain excellent relationships with existing clients
  • Identify opportunities for product promotion through social media and managing the interface of social networks
  • Promote brand specific products by engaging in exhibitions, events and conferences
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the local stations, markets/communities
  • Develop and direct the implementation of our sales and marketing strategy.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of marketing presentations and the procurement of promotional merchandise
  • Involved with the collection, analysis and interpretation of marketing data and research
  • Develop and maintain the company’s website and mobile site to ensure presence in the Digital World
  • Management of marketing budgets and ensuring cost effective utilization.
Qualifications/Required Skills/Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing , Communication, Public Relations or other Business Related Course
  • At least two years’ experience in media sales or sales management
  • An understanding of strategic account management, newspaper and radio ratings, media planning
  • Strategic management of inventory and rates
  • Ability to forecast revenue
  • Must be proficient in developing plans for revenue growth
  • Must be able to work well with other departments to achieve success;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others, have excellent communication skills, flexibility and assertiveness to meet goals
  • Requires demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills
