Windle Trust Local Programme Administrator and Project Liaison Officer Jobs in Kenya


Windle Trust Kenya (WTK), an implementing partner of the Borderless Higher Education for Refugees (BHER) project wishes to recruit on its behalf officers for the positions described below to serve in Dadaab. 
BHER seeks to bring higher education to Dadaab refugee and local youth through onsite and online university courses. 
It is led by York University, Canada. Other partners include African Virtual University (AVU), Kenyatta University (KU), Moi University, University of British Columbia (UBC) and World University Services Canada (WUSC).
 
1. Local Programme Administrator – LPA
1 Post
 
The Local Programme Administrator (LPA) will liaise with AVU, WTK and WUSC to coordinate student enrollment, certificate completion of InSTEP, the university preparation program in BHER and works with the universities to facilitate student registration in the post InSTEP - programmes. 
The LPA will ensure essential physical facilities and instructional materials for the InSTEP program are available for the delivery of curricular activities and supports InSTEP teachers as needed.
 
Qualifications
  • A degree in Education with at least 4 years of proven experience in effective and efficient management of Kenya education with high quality outputs.
  • An understanding of management of University education;
  • Excellent planning, analytical, conceptual and organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate students to perform maximally. Ability to communicate well, be an effective team-player and problem-solver are required.
  • Proven knowledge of Kenya Education systems
  • Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point) required.
  • Able and willing to live, work, travel in fast-paced and environment adhering to strict security guidelines.
  • Proficiency in English language is required.
2. Project Liaison Officer PLO

The Project Liaison Officer (PLO) represents BHER in Dadaab and attends to the programmatic and operational aspects of the project. 
S/he coordinates with the community to ensure smooth operation of the BHER campus and its programs including effective and efficient support to instructors and students; works with community mobilizers, parents and communities to ensure girls’ access to school and provides support to programmatic aspects of the project as needed. 
Further, the PLO is in-charge of overseeing all aspects of BHER logistics functions: planning, directing, warehousing, distribution, forecasting and reporting of relevant operations. 
PLO will facilitate receipts, sorting out, logging and transportation of materials to BHER campus and management of BHER assets. 
The PLO
coordinates with other partners in the BHER project and agencies working in Dadaab.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, international development or related field with additional professional training in procurement and logistics management;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role;
  • Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and Power Point) required.
  • Excellent research skills and proven ability to collect quantitative and qualitative data and write reports.
  • Good interpersonal and public relationship skills.
  • Proficiency in English language is required.
