Deputy Registrar ‐ Examinations
 
Job Objective
 
The Deputy Registrar reports to the University Registrar and will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of examination processes, records and resources.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the Deans prepare the examination timetable and implement procedures for setting examinations, collecting, and formalizing the results with the academic departments and examination boards;
  • Coordination of University award congregations inclusive of annual prize giving and Graduation ceremonies ;
  • Ensure timely completion of examination process and timely and accurate declaration of results
  • To regularly review the quality and effectiveness of the examinations process to ensure it continues to meet customer requirements
  • Continuously improve the examination processes and regularly brief back to the Registrar.
  • Maintain the examinations database of candidates to ensure continuous assessment and examinations records are up to date and prepare reports and statistics on examinations and CATs performance;
  • Ensure implementation of all examinations rules, procedures and policies and Supervise examination officers to maintain service and operational standards in the examinations office;
  • Prepare and monitor the annual budget for examination related functions and resources;
  • In liaison with the Deans enforce deadlines for submission of marked exams and marking schemes;
  • Assist in the formulation of faculty examination policy in liaison with the Dean & University Registrar; and
  • Undertake such other tasks as may be reasonably expected within the scope and grade of the post at the request of University Management to ensure University objectives are met
Qualifications and Experience
 
The candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience
  • At least a Master’s Degree
  • Professional qualification will be an added advantage
  • 5 years relevant experience with at least 3 years’ experience at Supervisory level
  • Experience in managing a team
Other Skills and Competences
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Exceptional planning, organization and execution skills
  • Computer literate with excellent data management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with students, faculty and staff
  • Ability to handle confidential information

AMPATH Human Resource Officer, Salaries Clerk and Registry Officer Jobs in Eldoret Kenya


AMPATH is a program under the auspices of Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital and Moi University in collaboration with Indiana University School of Medicine, all uniting their resources towards tackling Kenya’s major health problems. 

AMPATH operates in mainly the North Rift, Western and Nyanza Provinces. AMPATH is the umbrella of all sponsored projects within the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and Moi University College of Health Sciences.
 
AMPATH Plus is the grant given to AMPATH by the American people through USAID in support of its activities in HIV care and other related activities. 

The purpose of the grant is to provide support for a 5-year Program jointly carried out by Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Moi University and Indiana University, which is sub grantee.

AMPATH is seeking to employ suitable persons for RSPO to further strengthen the ability of RSPO to handle all administrative and finance activities for AMPATH in the following section:-

Human Resources Department
 
1. Human Resource Officer

2 Positions (1 AMPATH Plus and 1 Other grants)
 
He/She is answerable to Human Resource Manager
 
Responsible for and ensures that the HR activities are implemented to meet Labor laws of Kenya requirements and USAID regulations as well as other funding agents requirements.
 
Activities include but not limited to:
  • Ensure implementation of HR policies
  • Participate in recruitment, promotions, induction, employee relations activities
  • Facilitate training(CMEs etc)
  • Participate in disciplinary matters
  • Working with PIs in advertising, short listing, interviews, placement and induction
  • Any other task given to him
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of a degree in social sciences, economics or business administration from a recognized university.
  • Have experience in Human resource management for at least 3 years at the level of section head
  • Be able to work extra hours including week ends
  • Be a team player and ready to adapt to new approach to work
  • Experience with USAID funded project is an added advantage
2. Salaries Clerk
 
Answerable to Human Resource Manager
 
Activities include but not limited to:
  • Verification of Pay Change Advice and entering in the records
  • Assist in preparation of personnel emoluments and budgets
  • Assist in preparation of pay slips and dispatching on time
  • Ensure dispatch of all external documents meet date lines.
Requirements
  • Be in possession of Diploma in Business management, Business Administration and Human Resource from a recognized institution.
  • Have at least 3 years work experience in a busy HR office environment and be able to keep confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of Memory soft payroll software is an added advantage
  • Must be computer literate in excel
3. Registry Officer
  • Answerable to Human Resource Manager
  • Ensure all confidential documents under him are secure.
  • Activities include but not limited to:
  1. Management and organization of registry
  2. Ensuring good, clean and secure storage of documents
  3. Ensure compliance in archiving, and retrieval
Requirements
  • Be in possession of Certificate/Diploma in Records and Information management from a recognized institution
  • Have at least 3 years work experience at the level of section head in a busy environment. Be able to keep confidential matters.
  • Must have worked in the registry undertaking all the above.

Registrars and General Doctors Jobs at a University Hospital in Nairobi


a University Hospital in Nairobi and a premier tertiary teaching hospital is fast growing with a network of over 30 multi-site medical centers in East Africa is seeking to fill the positions of Registrars and General Doctors.
 
The briefs as per the positions are as indicated below:
 
Instructors (Registrars) in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Coronary Care Unit (CCU)/Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) and Senior House Officers in Paediatrics, Accident & Emergency, ICU and Internal Medicine.  These clinicians will partner with us in provision of high quality healthcare in the region.  These positions are urgent especially for the General Doctors to be based in Nairobi.

Instructor (Registrar) positions are fundamentally training positions for individuals awaiting specialist recognition by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB). The incumbents will provide clinical care to ensure timely and optimal delivery of quality patient care and supervise junior doctors.

Senior House Officers will be responsible for the effective management and care of patients. They will work with a team of medical staff to ensure optimal delivery of quality patient care.

Applicants for the position of Instructor (Registrar) must have a Master of Medicine Degree while applicants for the position of Senior House Officer must have a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) or equivalent with at least two years relevant experience.

One Position
 
Key role:

Key role is to:
  • Ensure effective and efficient delivery of service to clients to maintain high level customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate booking of patient with various clinics and ensure billing of services rendered
  • Investigate customer complaints and ensure they are resolved with the relevant departments then document for follow up/records as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Diploma in Public Relations or Front Office Operations
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a busy establishment
  • Must be computer literate
D) Assistant Payroll Accountant
 
Key role:
  • Accurate preparation of the hospital payroll by scheduled date and administration of statutory deduction by deadlines
  • • Update the system with details of new staff and work out terminal dues for those exiting
  • • Facilitate opening of bank accounts and registration of NSSF and PIN for new staff
  • • Handle payment queries from staff
Minimum Requirements:
  • BCom. or equivalent and CPA II
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a similar position.
  • Hospital experience will be an added advantage
  • Experience in Accounting Packages and Payroll Modules a prerequisite.

Job Description:
 
This the highest position in the scheme. 

The Finance Officer will be answerable to the Deputy Principal (A&F). 

The holder of this office will be responsible for the overall formulation and implementation of the finance strategy for the department; advising the University management on all financial matters; responsible for efficient organization, control and supervision of all accounting units. 

Responsible for review, planning, co-ordination, design, implementation, development of accounting services and systems, timely submission of annual financial statements and accounts and setting and maintaining high accounting standards in the University.
 
Those to be appointed should have:-
 
i) A Masters degree from a recognized University in a relevant field such as MBA, with 10 years relevant
experience, at least 5 years as Chief Accountant or equivalent in institutions of higher learning.
 
ii) CPA III
 
iii) Registered member of ICPAK or an equivalent Accounting body.
 
iv) Practical experience of ICT is mandatory at this level.
 
v) Consistently demonstrated outstanding qualities for leadership, coordination and organization capabilities at top management level.
 
vi) Holders of PhD in relevant field will have an added advantage.
 
2. Deputy Registrar Administration – (In-Charge of Council Matters) 

Scale 14
 
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
 
i) Served in the grade of Senior Assistant Registrar grade 13 for at least three (3) years;
 
ii) a Masters Degree in Administration/Management or its equivalent from a recognized University
 
iii) Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability in work performance.
 
iv) Experience as Senior Assistant Registrar (Council matters).

3. Senior Procurement Officer 

Scale 13
 
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
 
i) A Masters degree in the following disciplines; Business Administration, Economics, Commerce (Supplies
Management option) or its equivalent from a recognized University;
 
ii) Attended management courses(s) lasting for reasonable periods(s); and eight (8) years work experience
 
iv) Should have certificates in professional courses
 
v) Served in the grade of senior procurement Officer II or in a comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years;
 
vi) A Bachelors Degree in the following disciplines; business Administration, Economics, Commerce (Supplies Management option) or its equivalent from a recognized University
 
vii) Attended management course(s) lasting for reasonable periods(s); and
 
viii) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
