Job Purpose: To audit the organization’s areas of risks - identify, assess and recommend mitigating factors for appropriate action

Main Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Enterprise Risk Management strategies to ensure mitigation of risk and compliance.
  • Implement the annual audit plans to assess the organization risk and compliance levels• Implement the risk and compliance audit programs and monitor its implementation
  • Audits KAA’s compliance with statutory requirements to ensure they comply with industry policies and standards.
  • Audits the Implementation of risk management policies to ensure significant gaps in risk management are closed.
  • Audits all organization’s business plans / projects / contracts / services to determine the levels of risk and recommend actions
  • Audits risk reporting framework on all business plans on business plans /contracts / projects / services
  • Audits all operational procedures and processes to determine the level of operational risk and recommends mitigating factors for adoption.
  • Audits systems to ensure a robust MIS to identify, monitor, manage and control organization risk.
  • Undertakes audit of high risk business units to mitigate against likely incidences, minimize impact and make recommendations
  • Audits all security facilities, equipment and other related installations in all airports and make or recommendations where appropriate.
  • Prepares comprehensive audit working papers and reports on risk & compliance from the Audit team
Qualifications and Experience
  • University degree in a business or a related field
  • Professional qualification either in CIA, CFA, CPA (K) or ACCA.
  • Computer knowledge and application
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience, 1 of which should have been in risk management.

Project Manager – Terminal 1, 2, 3 and Arrivals Terminal

Job Purpose: KAA is seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager for the rehabilitation and renovation of Terminal 1, 2, 3 and Arrivals Terminal. 

The candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision of the project. 

The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and clients while successfully directing the other personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget while observing security and safety at the airport. 

This individual must work closely with all the stakeholders and fulfill an integral role on the project.
 
This position reports directly to the General Manager (Projects & Engineering Services) and will be
based in Nairobi
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of the strategic policy and objectives of the project.
  • Direct the delivery of the new Terminal and taking responsibility for the overall progress, by ensuring the project is delivered within the available resources, and that it is completed within time, cost, quality, risk, scope and project objectives, initiating corrective action where necessary.
  • Prepare project implementation program and establish stringent project requirements.
  • Act as the liaison person with all the stakeholders and other external parties, consultants, contractors, donors, financiers and statutory agents.
  • Lead and motivate the project management team to ensure successful delivery of the project objectives by directing and managing project interface with existing airport operators and facilitating resolution of any operational challenges.
  • Review contract documents relating to the project to ensure accuracy, quality & completeness and bring any discrepancies to the attention of all the concerned parties.
  • Prepare and advise on budgets, seek approval & impart controls at all stages of the project to meet project budget.
  • Monitor progress of the project and report to the General Manager and ensure best results through effective co-ordination with internal & external teams.
  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost saving measures and potential construction challenges.
  • Facilitate the assembling of job site office and equipment requirements; raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings; ensure preparation and issue minutes of all site meetings.
  • Monitor site safety and ensure that ensuring completion and tracking of all independent testing and inspections as required enforces the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Monitor the design consultant to ensure the deliverables are accomplished in accordance with the terms of reference.
  • Leverage the contractor in all project phases and facilitate the working conditions with respect to the rules and conditions of the airport and all other aviation safety guidelines.
  • Prepare the following: Financial reports, Risk reports, Progress reports, Environmental Health and Safety reports and Project Completion reports.
  • Maintain the following: Financial reports, Issues Register, Risk Register, Daily Log, Environmental Health and Safety records.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years experience in project management five of which must have been in the supervision of an integrated project with a multifaceted components
  • Must have supervised a project of similar size
  • First degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field;
  • Knowledge in Financial Management is desirable
  • Strong presentation, organizational, negotiation and people management skills
  • Leadership and emotional intelligence skills.

The successful candidate will
  • Plan, budget and execute replacements, new purchases, installations, support and maintenance of CABI’s ICT platform and networks; 
  • Identify, develop & implement continuous end-user ICT training programs and new staff orientation; 
  • Set-up, maintain and protect user accounts, mailboxes and ICT hardware and software; 
  • Create and maintain procedural documentation for ICT activities; 
  • Support contracting to design, develop, implement, operate and administer ICT computer and telecommunications software, networks, websites and information systems; 
  • Manage LAN WAN, with other centres and regional offices; 
  • Manage inventory of ICT hardware, software, consumable and other ICT resources; 
  • Undertake research on emerging ICT trends and continuously review CABI systems and recommend to management upgrading and appropriate ICT investment in systems, procedures, software and hardware in line with market trends and responsive to CABI operations and emerging technological developments and trends;
  • Lead and drive a culture of innovation and creativity in seeking ICT solutions to organizational challenges and in business processes to facilitate efficient operations; 
  • Perform other related duties as will be assigned from time to time by the management;
He/she will have 
  • Masters degree in Computer/Information Science; 
  • First degree in Computer/Information Science, ICT or related discipline from a recognized institution; 
  • Certification in Network/Systems Administration or its equivalent from a recognised examining body/institution, Microsoft Certified System administration preferred; 
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or working towards; 
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or working towards; 
  • Membership of professional ICT body(ies); Excellent administrative and communication skills; 
  • Ability to prioritise and manage diverse workloads; 
  • Use initiative and pay attention to details. 
A good level of project management skills in a cross-cultural environment is essential.
