Job Purpose: KAA is seeking to recruit an experienced Project Manager for the rehabilitation and renovation of Terminal 1, 2, 3 and Arrivals Terminal. 

The candidate will be responsible for the overall supervision of the project. 

The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and clients while successfully directing the other personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget while observing security and safety at the airport. 

This individual must work closely with all the stakeholders and fulfill an integral role on the project.
 
This position reports directly to the General Manager (Projects & Engineering Services) and will be
based in Nairobi
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of the strategic policy and objectives of the project.
  • Direct the delivery of the new Terminal and taking responsibility for the overall progress, by ensuring the project is delivered within the available resources, and that it is completed within time, cost, quality, risk, scope and project objectives, initiating corrective action where necessary.
  • Prepare project implementation program and establish stringent project requirements.
  • Act as the liaison person with all the stakeholders and other external parties, consultants, contractors, donors, financiers and statutory agents.
  • Lead and motivate the project management team to ensure successful delivery of the project objectives by directing and managing project interface with existing airport operators and facilitating resolution of any operational challenges.
  • Review contract documents relating to the project to ensure accuracy, quality & completeness and bring any discrepancies to the attention of all the concerned parties.
  • Prepare and advise on budgets, seek approval & impart controls at all stages of the project to meet project budget.
  • Monitor progress of the project and report to the General Manager and ensure best results through effective co-ordination with internal & external teams.
  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost saving measures and potential construction challenges.
  • Facilitate the assembling of job site office and equipment requirements; raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings; ensure preparation and issue minutes of all site meetings.
  • Monitor site safety and ensure that ensuring completion and tracking of all independent testing and inspections as required enforces the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Monitor the design consultant to ensure the deliverables are accomplished in accordance with the terms of reference.
  • Leverage the contractor in all project phases and facilitate the working conditions with respect to the rules and conditions of the airport and all other aviation safety guidelines.
  • Prepare the following: Financial reports, Risk reports, Progress reports, Environmental Health and Safety reports and Project Completion reports.
  • Maintain the following: Financial reports, Issues Register, Risk Register, Daily Log, Environmental Health and Safety records.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years experience in project management five of which must have been in the supervision of an integrated project with a multifaceted components
  • Must have supervised a project of similar size
  • First degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field;
  • Knowledge in Financial Management is desirable
  • Strong presentation, organizational, negotiation and people management skills
  • Leadership and emotional intelligence skills.

Role Purpose Statement: – Carry out and certify all inspection, repair, replacement tasks on aircraft and aircraft systems and perform certification within his/her scope of approval in accordance with the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority(TCAA) and company regulations at an optimised cost for the business whilst upholding high safety standards to maintain schedule
integrity. After completion of training will have the Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
• Assess defect s on aircraft, troubleshoot, rectify and

• Carry out scheduled maintenance checks and service bulletins and certify within the dual
scope approval for safe and timely release of aircraft within planned downtime for
continued airworthiness.
• Carry out and certify maintenance on cabin utilities and i.f.e. systems for utmost
customer satisfaction and comfort
• Identify and requisition of the required parts
• Carry out and certify duplicate inspections on safety critical systems of the aircraft and
engines within the single scope approval to ensure system integrity
• Report incidents / accident occurrences as per company procedures
• Ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded accurately & signed for in order to maintain
correct & up to date aircraft history /data
• Adhere to the company safety, health and environmental policy
• Co-ordinate aircraft towing to and from hangars by communicating with the tower
• Apron control and operating the necessary aircraft systems for safe and timely
Movement of the aircraft
• Carry out security checks as per the maintenance procedures manual.
• Supervise team of technicians
• Develop technicians for improved competency/ efficiency
Minimum Qualifications:
• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical /Electrical / Avionics engineering discipline.

• Processing and renewal of work Permit for expatriate staff on time
• Administrative management of Buildings QP, Airport and town office
• Ensure all maintenance contracts are maintained such as AC
• Follow-up with landlord all issues related to the building such as Electricity, water and
general maintenance of the premises
• Plus any other duty that might be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Advanced level of secondary education or above
• Computer literacy especially in use of office tools and HR/Pay roll systems. 
• Good command of English and Kiswahili both written and spoken.
• 2year experience in industry in similar position.

Director, Aviation Safety & Security Standards Regulation Job in Kenya

Director, Aviation Safety & Security Standards Regulation

Department / Section: Directorate of Aviation Safety and Security Standards Regulation
Reports To: Director General
Job Purpose: To plan and control the operations of Aviation Safety and Security Standards and Regulations in accordance with the lawful instructions and policy guidelines governing such services.

Scope of work / duties / responsibilities
  Ensure proper operation of the Aviation Safety and Security Standards and Regulations directorate.
  Incorporate appropriate safety and security standards and sound economic principles.
  Develop and manage the department in accordance with specific aviation safety and security standards and regulations.
  Advise the Director General and the Board on matters affecting Aviation safety and security legislation and enforcement.
  Conduct continuous quality and performance surveillance on services provided.
  Prepare budget estimates and advise the management on manpower requirements.
  Initiate and participate in manpower development programs.
  Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Director General.

Job Qualifications
  A Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree from a recognized university
  Advanced professional qualification in Aircraft Airworthiness including aircraft type courses certificate or Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with ratings of large commercial aircraft group 1 with not less than 3000 hours flying experience.
  Served as a flight safety inspector or equivalent position for a period not less than 5 years will be an added advantage.
  Aircraft maintenance engineers licence in category “A” and “C” or “X” and “R” will be an added advantage.
  A Masters Degree from a recognized university in Aeronautical or related field will be an added advantage

Job Experience
  At least 8 years relevant work experience.
  At least 3 years minimum experience in a senior position ( Head of Airworthiness or Head of Flight Safety Standards within an aviation Safety Standards and Regulations department or equivalent positions)

Job Knowledge and skills
  Knowledge of ICAO standards and recommended practices (SARPs).
  Proven experience in developing national aviation regulations and procedures.
  Demonstrate high standards of professional competence and administrative ability for direction, management and control of aviation safety standards and regulations.
  Proven leadership qualities, integrity, transparency and accountability.
