Job Purpose

The position holder shall be responsible for organizing, monitoring and supervising plant maintenance operations providing technical assistance to the Production department. 

The holder shall also be responsible for sound people management, engineering problem solving and project management related to improvements and safety to ensure the availability and reliability of all machinery so as to meet the production requirement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively participate and offer engineering support and solutions to Weekly reliability and weekly operations meetings to deliver on set targets.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement activities in the plant to reduce wastage, water consumption and other types of energy.
  • Lead and facilitate team to deploy the relevant LEAN/TPM tools leading to long term sustainable performance improvement.
  • Design or modify line bottlenecks to improve flow and productivity of machines in the factory.
  • Responsible for management and development of Mechanics, and technical expertise in the area through coaching, mentorship and motivation of team and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Lead the maintenance team in identification and evaluation of safety risks and take action to mitigate risks associated with all maintenance activities and electrical/electronic areas.
  • Manage the execution of projects within maintenance area and ensure that company machinery under service contract are properly serviced and maintained.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology (Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic) or Equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing plant working in an engineering   leadership position.
  • Working knowledge of ISO systems and TPM as well as knowledge of local OHS Act requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Position: Quality Manager
 
Job description
  • Devising and establishing Company's quality procedures, standards and specifications;
  • Reviewing customer requirements and ensuring that they are met;
  • Setting standards for quality.
  • Making sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards;
  • Advise on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

Position: Manager / Deputy Manager Mechanical Maintenance
  • Review & monitor reliability & availability of plant through adherence to preventive and predictive maintenance practices in planned & systematic manner.
  • Contribute towards cost reduction activities by ensuring that there are minimum breakdown/ least disruption on the production schedules due to engineering services.
  • Minimizing cost of spares / inventory and monitoring cost of energy / gas consumption.
  • Provide technical assistance to analyze engineering services failures/ breakdown in equipment and solving critical equipment problems/ failures.
  • Maintain record of equipment wise maintenance record and expenditure, and provide analysis of the same to Senior Management as and when required
  • Formulate the planned maintenance schedule for general maintenance based on the Job Change Schedule (Monthly production plan) to ensure maximum plant upkeep time and ensure execution of the same.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all jobs including details of problem diagnosis and resolution as well as spares used for future reference and analysis.
  • Ensure leverage of IT in maintenance for effective recording and monitoring of maintenance data.
  • Implement key process improvement initiatives to be taken-up in maintenance (such as ISO, TPM, PMS, etc.) from time to time by in accordance with organizational guidelines.

The right candidate for this job should have knowledge in mobile network configuration, deployment and operations, and at least have Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering with at least 3 years’ experience. Must be willing to work anywhere in the country.

3.     Power System Technicians

A dynamic, energetic and result oriented Electrical Technician who will be responsible for maintenance and support of generators, air conditioners, controls and other electrical equipment in mobile sites. 

  • The Power System Technician will be reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Field Support Manager. 
  • The right candidate for this job should at minimum have at least a Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Refrigeration Engineering with at least 3 years’ experience, have good inter personal skills, a team player and should be able to work with minimum supervision. 
  • Should have sound knowledge in maintenance of power infrastructure, be result oriented, must have proven experience from a reputable organization. 
  • Must be willing to work anywhere in the country.
  • Registration with Engineering Board and knowledge of mobile network design and implementation will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the medical scheme records and generates a monthly statement on the status of all medical accounts in liaison with the scheme providers

Assistant Medical Maintenance Officer

Essential Functions:  

  • Under the supervision, guidance and approval of the Medical Maintenance Officer, the Assistant Medical Maintenance Officer will maintain all laboratory and clinical equipment to meet national and international standards, including repairs, installation, calibration and routine maintenance needs. 
  • The Assistant Medical Maintenance officer will report directly to the Medical Maintenance Officer.

Key Responsibilities


All functions below will be conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Medical Maintenance Officer.

  1. Under the Supervision of the Medical Maintenance Officer, inspect and test malfunctioning medical and related equipment following manufacturers' specifications.
  2. Examine medical equipment and facility's structural environment and check for proper use of equipment, to protect staff from electrical or mechanical hazards.
  3. Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  4. Under the Supervision and approval of the Medical Maintenance Officer, disassemble malfunctioning equipment and remove, repair and replace defective parts
  5. Keep records of maintenance, repair, and required updates of equipment.
  6. Under the Supervision and approval of the Medical Maintenance Officer, perform preventive maintenance or service such as cleaning, lubricating and adjusting equipment.
  7. Under the Supervision and approval of the Medical Maintenance Officer, test and calibrate components and equipment following manufacturers' manuals and troubleshooting techniques, using hand tools, power tools and measuring devices. Explain and demonstrate correct operation and preventive maintenance of medical equipment to personnel.
  8. Study technical manuals and when available, attend training sessions provided by WRAIR or manufacturers to upgrade current knowledge
  9. Plan and carry out work assignments, using blueprints, schematic drawings, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and liquid and air flow sheets, while following prescribed regulations, directives, and other instructions as required.
  10. Test, evaluate, and classify excess or in-use medical equipment and determine serviceability, condition, and disposition in accordance with regulations.
  11. Calibrate equipment to meet manufacturer's design specifications.
  12. Compute power and space requirements for installing medical equipment and install units to manufacturer's specifications.
  13. Work closely with the medical maintenance team at WRAIR and keep designated personnel abreast of all relevant issues
  14. General building facility maintenance for water and air conditioning systems
  15. Other duties as requested by the Medical Maintenance Officer and/or Management.

Qualifications:

  1. Diploma in medical engineenng from a recognized institution.
  2. At least three years working experience in a busy medical laboratory. Preference will be given to applicants who have served in a medical research laboratory.
  3. Must have ability to maintain and repair freezers and fridges.
