Our client a top interior design company based in Nairobi seeks to hire an experienced Creative graphic designer whose main responsibility will be to Plan, design, and furnish interiors and formulate design which is practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meeting clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job
  • Inspecting and surveying a site
  • Researching and drawing up plans; interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
  • Estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for clients;
  • Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research; thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Sending designs to manufacturers for production purposes
  • Briefing the procurement department on the details of orders confirmed.
  • Showroom Orientation to Walk-in Clients
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials
  • Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time;
  • Presenting finalized ideas and concepts to clients or account managers;
  • Working with a wide range of media, including photography and computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work;
  • Contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall brief;
  • Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches; working on layouts and art working pages ready for print
  • Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as InDesign, QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash; developing interactive design;
Qualification, Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the same capacity, preferably with the Building & Construction Industry.
  • Minimum degree in graphic design. Or a diploma in Graphic Designer with very good spoken and written English.
  • Candidate should have a command on operating Graphic Software’s – CorelDraw & Photoshop.
  • Preference will be given to incumbents having additional qualifications of AutoCAD, Archicad, Web design software’s and familiar with 3D Graphic presentations.

Our client, a well established market leader in steel fabrication, design and structural steelwork is looking to recruit a Structural and Detailing Draughtsman. 

He/she MUST have a minimum 7 years  experience in structural steelwork detailing in Tekla.

Key Responsibility: Drafting and detailing of reinforced concrete and structural steel for commercial, residential and industrial buildings. 
Qualification:

  • Must have a bachelors degree or a diploma in Engineering.
  • Must have experienced in AutoCAD.
  • Proven experience of building structures according to IS codes.

Duties and responsibilities:
 
1. Evaluation and reporting on contractual claims from contracts, checking valuations for payments to contractors, resolution of disputes on cases requiring litigation or arbitration.
 
2. Responsible for cost information services, control and implementation of tendering and procuring procedures for construction projects, preparation of cost hand books handling correspondence, reports and papers on policy matters.
 
3. Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, monthly valuation on site. Site measurements. Preparation of variation orders and final accounts involving the implementation of development project of the County.
 
4. Supervise quantity surveying services in the county and supervise the staff working under him or her.
 
Requirements for appointment:
 
1. Be a Kenyan citizen.
 
2. Served in the grade of chief superintendent quantity surveyor or comparable and relevant position in the public service/private sector for at least three years.
 
3. A Bachelor of Arts degree in building economics / quantity surveying.
 
4. Be registered with the board of registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya as a quantity surveyor.
 
5. Corporate membership of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK) or Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK)
 
6. Attended a strategic leadership development course lasting not less than six weeks from a recognized institution.
 
7. Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability required for the effective planning, direction, control and co-ordination of quantity surveying functions.

The Karura Forest Environmental Education Trust seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced registered firms forming a Consortium, to participate in an Architectural Competition. 

The Consortium should comprise of Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Environmental Management Experts. 

The purpose of this EOI is to select the best qualified candidates to participate in the design competition for the proposed education centre at Karura Forest.

Our client is a Registered Architectural and Interior Design Company that has been in existence for 17 years. 

They have been involved in projects of varying magnitude, type and complexity. 

They provide services such as: master plan, schematic design, design development, interior design, contract documentation, construction administration and post occupancy evaluation.  

They are looking for a Senior Architect who shall be reporting to the Principal Architect.
The job purpose is to design building structures and supervise their construction. 

Assist the Principal Architect in running the technical department, by supervising the Architects and Assistant Architects in the office. 

Assigning them jobs and ensuring they produce a satisfactory quality of work in good time.

Primary Duties
  • Designing of building structures
