Our client is a grower of fresh produce with their main crops being; cabbage, french beans, babycorn and potatoes. 

They seek to hire an expert in French Beans. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of French beans production from cultivation, planting, crop husbandry to harvest
• Ensure proper application of fertilizers and pesticides
• Maintain high quality all through production to ensure high quality harvest
• Proper harvesting and packaging at the farm to avoid rejection
• Procure extension services from government and other providers on best production method
• Continually expend your knowledge on French Beans for growth purposes
• Understanding and conforming to the export market

Requirements:

• Min Degree/ Higher Diploma in Agriculture/ Crop Production
• Minimum 2 years’ experience handling crop production 1 year in French beans
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Team player and able to work with minimal supervision
• Flexible and good planning and organization skills
• Good time management skills
• Integrity

Responsibilities:

• Processing documents, payments and claims through KPA for both import and export cargo ;
• Lodging and follow up of delivery and shipping orders with shipping lines;
• Loading of both import and export cargo at the port;
• Follow up of letters written to the customs authorities;
• Lodging and follow up with customs both import and export files at the port;
• Ensure timely cancellations of bond entries with customs at the port;

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in shipping/clearing and forwarding;
• Conversant with KRA-Simba sytem;
• At least 3 years experience in a similar position;
• Computer literate;
• Valid driving licence is an added advantage.

The Profile: Good analytical skills, good interpersonal skills, high sense of integrity, ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision, good communication skills.
