Senior Corporate Communication & Outreach Officer

Grade 5

Reporting to the Head Corporate Communication and Outreach, the job holder will Support and assist in coordinating departmental activities. 

The jobholder will also be responsible for:
  • Developing, designing and collecting materials for corporate newsletter.
  • Mapping out outreach opportunities and implementing planned activities
  • Facilitating and providing support for corporate communication and outreach programmes.
  • Assist in Design and production of corporate messages and organizing relevant sensitization campaigns to both the customer and staff.
  • Assist other departments to organize and coordinate corporate activities and events.
The successful candidate will have 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media or Communications or a related discipline and a Diploma in Public Relations. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years relevant management experience. 
  • He/she will have knowledge in communications and public relations disciplines. 
  • They will also be a member of a recognised professional body (e.g. Public Relations Society of Kenya).
Corporate Communication Officer

Grade 6

Reporting to the Head Corporate Communication and Outreach, the jobholder will assist with coordination of unit matters relating corporate communication. 

The jobholder will also be responsible for:
  • Maintaining up to date website and other social media tools.
  • Use audio-visual tools  including cameras and videos to generate content
  • Receipt and distribution of mails.
  • Assist other departments to organize and coordinate corporate activities and events.
  • Maintain press summaries and newspaper cuttings
The successful candidate will have 
  • a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media or Communications or a related discipline and a Diploma in Public Relations. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. 
  • He/she will have knowledge in communications and public relations disciplines. 
  • She/he will also be a member of a recognised professional body (e.g. Public Relations Society of Kenya).
Receptionist

Grade 8

Reporting to the Head Corporate Communication and Outreach, the jobholder will handle front desk matters and guiding visitors with relevant advisory information to access IPOA offices. 

The jobholder will also be responsible for:
  • Receiving and directing calls accordingly.
  • Handling and guiding visitors that come to IPOA
  • Issuing visitors passes.
  • Providing relevant and accurate information to visitors.
  • Assisting other departments to organize and coordinate corporate activities and events.
The successful candidate will have 
  • a Diploma in Customer Care or a related discipline. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. 
  • He/she will have knowledge in communications and public relations disciplines.

  • Development and implementation of strategic sector plans and performance management.
  • Formulate and implement policies and plans that conform to county strategic plan and vision 2030.
  • Promote national values, principles of good Governance as outlined in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
  • Performs any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time.
Requirements for appointment
  • Be a Kenyan Citizen.
  • Be a holder of a first degree in the relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya.
  • A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Have knowledge, experience and a distinguished career of not less than Ten (10) years in the specific area, five of which should be at managerial level.
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
  • Understand the diversity within the County.
  • Senior management course or strategic leadership programme will be an added advantage.
  • Have capacity to work under pressure and meet strict timelines.
Additional qualification for County Chief Officer in charge of Finance and Economic Planning:
  • Must be a CPA (K) holder.
  • Holder of a Masters degree in business administration, fi nance or economics.
  • Be in possession of extensive experience and training in public finance.
  • Demonstrate progressive advancement and increased responsibility over financial decision making process in public finance.
  • Must be conversant with computerized accounting packages.

The Town Administrator shall be answerable to the Town Committee. Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Formulating and implementing an integrated development plan;
