Pharmaceutical Technologist Job in Riruta Satellite, Nairobi, Kenya

A new pharmacy in Riruta Satellite is looking for a pharmaceutical technologist to work in the evening.

Minimum Job Requirement: Diploma in Pharmacy from accredited institutions, by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board with a minimum of 3 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.   

Licensed Pharmacist / Enrolled Pharmaceutical Technologist

Computer skills - excel and word (good) Language skills - English and Kiswahili, written and spoken (good)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Knowledge of policies, strategies and regulations pertaining to the procurement, supply and management of pharmaceutical drugs.
• Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
• Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain and analyse data.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
• Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
• maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
• Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
• Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments.
• Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
